Re: PG play
i agree with a sizzle and erathia... the prerimeter is hurting because the interior has a "open for business" sign hanging under the basket.... teams can attack and kick knowing that the lakers have to either totally collapse to protect the paint or give up the paint somewhat to protect the kick out pass... it's basic basketball but without somebody anchoring the paint it's effective...
man defense is good but it's not efficient and it's tiring over the course of a game and even the best defenders need help on pick and roll defense, screens and various isolation types of sets we see so much of now days.
earlier this season phil wanted size in the paint and that's when we had bynum and kwame healthy...
we got ariza and gasol but lost kwame so nothing really changed there as far as defense goes and with ariza, mihm, bynum and gasol down we are just going to have to hope the lakes can keep the lid on things until they start returning to the lineup...
this is not anyone players fault or lack of skill. defense has been and always will be a team concept and when key ingredients of what makes a good defensive team are missing even 5 great defenders are going to suffer when they don't have the size to back them up.
