Re: Robert Vaden
I like both of these guys you bring up as good bench players. But there is a big difference between them. With Vaden, you know what you get. You get a shooter off the bench. He is a bit undersized and doesn't have the complete game you look for in a starter, but he can shoot the ball with anyone.
As for Maynor, you don't have any idea what kind of player you are getting. As Dasher said, his scoring is his biggest stregth, but you can also see his passing ability. If put in a different situation that VCU where he needs to score, I think he could be one of the top passers in the nation. His defense is also strong the defensive end, and his quickness will allow him to create some turnovers. His size seems like an issue, but he is a solid 6-2 I would say, and if put on an NBA workout program would be able to add the extra pounds without losing his quickness. I just don't know what direction he would go as a pro. I could see another Bobby Jackson, but I also think he could be an Anthony Carter type where he almost averages as many assists as he does points just because that is what the team needs him to do.
