Default Ira Newble on his way to LakerLand? IT IS OFFICIAL - 10 DAY CONTRACT

He will receive a 10 day contract....

Quote:
Swingman Ira Newble has decided to sign a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, choosing them over the Cavs.

A source said the Cavs offered Newble a spot on the team Wednesday, but the two sides could not agree on certain terms of his return.

The Cavs traded Newble to the Seattle SuperSonics last month, but never gave away his locker. Newble was eligible to rejoin the Cavs on Tuesday.

The Cavs still have one open roster spot that they may fill by early next week.

Interesting... I wonder if he can mesh with the team quickly if they get him?

Frankly I dont know much about him. Yet I read that he has a mind for defence, so that is always welcomed. I would be happy if he was good for 10 of energy and husstle of the bench...

He is a solid veteran rle player. Im glad we picked him up over gerald dreen. He will help defend some of the other teams shooting guards and small forwards. Hes got a bigger body than shasha so he can help us defensively. He is a solid addition

Agreed, but he will be solid pick up if is true. I have season tickets to the Cavs and he plays solid D and hustles. He essentially does the small things that makes teams better, but doesn't detract from others so he should be able to mesh with the team without much trouble. I would expect him to play about 10-15s a game.

If that means Walton gets limited minutes, welcome aboard Ira.

Don't kill me for saying this, but i've kind of liked the way Lukes been playing.

I mean he still has turnover streaks, but atleast he's starting to drain in shots. So he's not entirely useless now...

Perhaps we can put this guy on that bastard alston next time Houston comes to town...

Haha...

I diddnt watch that game(Damn my work place making me stay an hour longer)
But what I dont understand is when we have a guy is hott against us, why dont we throw him in the fire. Throw kobe at him. Just straight lock him up and limit his number of breath intakes per minute.
