Mock Draft 2008 - Message Board Basketball Forum

I know many Pacer fans are frustrated with the teams record and incidents that have been happening of late. Personally, I have a fan that looks for long term goals and dont see anything happening in the near future that will make the Pacers' season turn around. I think the next 2 drafts for us are crucial. In mock drafts they have us picking around 9th and taking DJ Augustin, a PG from Texas. I would rather have Brook Lopez, but he will probably go before the 9th pick. What are your guy's thoughts on this year draft? Its obvious we dont need anymore swingmen, we are filled with those. We need a PG and C. Does anyone know how DJ Augustin plays?

Wow, if we could land Augustin. Wow. He's gonna be a special player. I'm also salivating for Roy Hibbert. *fingers crossed*

ya i've always been a fan of Hibbert. I dont know why ESPN.com doesnt have him in the top 14 of their mock draft?

I dont know anything of Augustin so i cant say much. They are saying hes lacking size though on the defensive end. Bird has always been a good scout, even when Walsh ran the show. Pacers have always been able to pick good players with their selections. For example, Granger and Williams

He's been referred to as the best PG in college, it would be nice to somehow land Mayo.

If he's on the board (and Rose and Bayless are gone) and we don't draft DJ Augustin, Larry and Donnie will be getting a bag of ****e in the mail. Multiple species.

As for Hibbert, I'd much rather have Thabeet. I think this is as good as Hibbert'll ever be, Thabeet's nowhere near his peak.

I think that would be great if we could land DJ Augustin in the draft. I have not seen him play too much either, but based on what I have heard it seems this would be a good pick.
