Larry Brown could definetly take over at Providence,he'd immediately bring potential to a team that talentwise could very well be a Top 10 team at some point next season although most people arent expecting much out of them currently.

here's a scenario: bill self leaves for his alma mater(oklahoma state) after already winning it all at kansas. kansas goes out and gets larry brown, the last coach to win a championship at kansas in '88,to replace him. possible?

He must coach somewhere after the Knick debacle he and Isiah brought to NY. The question is who wants him with his old ways and that habit of alienating his players. Personally, I think a mid major would suit him best if he does coach again... because who would or could he recruit? Who would want to play for him?

Only talent he can ever claimed to have nurtured is Danny Manning. Maybe he could pull another rabbit out out his hat....time will tell.

he only landed danny manning because he got his dad,ed,to come be an assistant for him. but regardless,he still won an ncaa championship with him

That practice seems to work well for Kansas. They did the same thing with Mario Chalmers, hiring his dad to be the director of basketball operations.

Kind of a questionable practice in general if you ask me, but if the parent/mentor/friend you're hiring can do the job, then go for it. Especially if it pays off with a national championship.

Didn't work so well for Indiana this year, though.

Anyway, about Larry Brown taking over at Kansas...I don't see it. If Self leaves for Oklahoma State- and I think there's a good chance he does- do you think they're going to replace a notorious job-hopper in Self with the most notorious job-hopper of all time in Brown?
