Default Farmars Defense???

is it in existence? he is a very good offensive player, but where is the Defense

what is your opinion, Farmar cant stay in front of his man, or lakers help-Defense is not up to par?

Default Re: Farmars Defense???

lakers rotations were slow everywhere tonight..kobe left just as many men wide open as anyone did...as a group they sucked... farmar got beat, fisher got beat sasha got beat, kobe got beat etc etc.... the fourth quarter was actualy ok except portland refused to crumble under the pressure, made some big plays down the stretch and the lakers had dug too big a hole for themselves...

defense is not a one person effort, it takes the entire team working together to be successful and tonight they just didn't do that...

don't forget the lakers d is designed to funnel players to the middle or to push them out towards the baseline, either way the player is supposed to be picked up by a secondary defender on a rotation while the primary defender rotates to the perimeter, both screwed up tonight, tonight the rotations were slow or non existient...
so sometimes it may appear a player was beaten when in fact they were just left hung out to dry by their teammates...lol

Farmar is okay at staying in front of his man but when he comes to rotate defensively on a perimeter shooter, he's so slow and confused.

His offense is questionable too, its as if he doesn't want to pass to Kobe at all (note the 2 on 1 fastbreak in the third quarter).

he still has a lot to work on and if he gets an attitude change and works on his weaknesses, we can have one hell of a guard playing for us.

Default Re: Farmars Defense???

AS they say defense wins championships..........from the look of it last night the lakers could never win one!!! that defense does need to sharpen up ...but it seems like for some reason we always have match up problems against the trail-blazers?? i dont know why but we do. hopefully lakers can get there stuff together and close out the season with all W's we got clippers then Hornets then spurs for our next three i just wanna see us beat all of these teams
