At the end of the day, though it may be obvious to some, it seems to me that the lack of athleticism is the Bulls biggest problem.
While Pax was building his team of "quality guys" from winning programs, he completely forgot about athleticism.
There are only a couple of good athletes on the Bulls, and only one great one in Thomas.
If you think about it, it is absolutely inexcusable in the modern game as you will eventually get crushed by faster, stronger, more explosive teams.
The Bulls could get away with it in the last couple of years by extra effort and the fact that they were younger with more energy. But when that energy runs out we are left with slow stiffs.
A team to model after is someone like Philadelphia or the Lakers, who are long, quick, and can beat teams even when they are having bad shooting nights.
Pax absolutely dropped the ball on this and is facing the consequences.
P.S. Rose or Beasley would be a good place to start by the way, a shame they will inevitably be gone.
