The Jazz only really need improvement at two positions.

1) Backup Center - this is their biggest flaw. They need a defensive center. I'd even be all for trading Okur away if we could get a quality defensive presence for the paint. Okur's fine for defending big slow guys, but he has troubles against others. Jarron Collins just can't cut it and Fes needs a lot of development still.

2) Backup Point Guard - Hart has shown that he doesn't fit the system very well at all. Price has had more success, but I don't think many would argue the Jazz could find a better fit out on the trade market somewhere.

All in all, I don't think the Jazz will trade anyone this summer, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did either.

good enough i was thinking that maybe they would trade for a solid sg but brewer seems to have evaluated his game a lot

No body sees ak going this summer

i certainly do, unless he can do what Tim Duncan did and lower his contract size to allow the jazz to re-sign other players, AK is gone. Dunno where too like, not bothered. Could get a better SG and but brewer on that SF spot.

what we need doing?? Not back up C, we have fesenko coming through next season unless he becomes a FA or traded out. But if we have him we wont need a backup C cos he fits the bill nicely. Good on D, good offense player. We do on the other hand need a backup PG. I rate Ronnie, not hart but i think we could use somebody better. Rookie even if, we dont have 1st round draft pick. But we are good at picking up round 2 steals :P

i too think that ak's contract is too much and i believe he might be moved because i believe its a pretty long contract as well

I would think AK is moving, except that the moves we made both say we are willin to go over the cap.

First, we didn't take Phoenix' offer of AK for Marrion. That was a perfect solve to our cap problems for signing Williams/Boozer. Plus, Marion could have filled the defensive gap as well as anyone in the league, at least the among tradeable players. We rejected it even after they took the Banks drawback off the deal.

Second, we moved Giricek, and expirer, for a slightly higher paid and much longer contracted Korver.

By taking the first and not doing the second, we could have been sitting pretty financially, even though we probably would be a few wins back. I think we let Memo expire (we can't pay him again) and bite the bullet (go over the cap) through AK and Korver's salaries to resign Williams and Boozer.
By that time Fes should be the new cork.

An altenative is to package Morris Almond up with AK or Memo to bring in cap space and another star. Who's available that is better than Marion? I can't think of anybody.

Marion has a swagger that I dont think fits in utah. He would really truely believe that he is better then Deron and Boozer. While he is a great defender and that alone would maybe be reason to do it. But he wants a max contract also.

I agree, the chemistry wouldn't have been right. But we could have let him opt or expire a year after that so we could pay Williams and Boozer. Definatly not a good idea to resign him.

Not to mention AK to the Suns would improve them greatly. But now that marion is in miami it wouldn't hurt to have AK go to the east. Ak and Wade would be interesting also.

Not that you guys would trade with a division rival, but what about getting LaFrentz' expirer, #2 and Jarret Jack for your PG needs for AK? Portland would get a an upgrade at SF, though Outlaw may be the answer there at a much cheaper price.

Utah

D.Williams / Jack / Hart
Brewer / Almond / Price
Korver / Harpring / #1
Boozer / Milsap / Collins
Okur / LaFrentz / Fesenko

Portland

Rodriguez / #1 / Blake
Roy / Fernandez / Webster
AK / Outlaw / Jones
Aldridge / Frye / McRoberts
Oden / Pryzbilla / #2

Only players that are safe are Deron/Boozer/Harpring. Before the end of the 2010 season they will have to cut the payroll. They need to get more experienced players/size/back-up pg/head coach.

Jazz would probably rather have Blake and Outlaw might have to be part of the deal as well.
