More like Global Basketball AssociationS
I'm thinking VERY long-term here, but I'd say it'll be more like what you have with the world soccer leagues: The NBA is and will be for a long time what the EPL is now, and other leagues (in Italy, Spain, Germany for now) will rise to at least attract some viewers/fans from the US and other foreign markets. Global talent could boom enough for these leagues to even compete eventually, and leagues in Turkey, Israel, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Australia, and China could represent another tier that attracts a lot more domestic attention and $$$ compared to what they have now. Kind of like the African soccer leagues do now. I could imagine a similar global framework that sustains itself under the FIFA label now, but never a unified global league.
