I don't think that Maggette should be traded. Like mentioned he has stayed loyal to the Clipps when everyone else jumped ship. Maggette would be a very nice second option to Brand but they need to start him. He is definetly better than Ross.

He is better than Ross, but not in defence.

They should not trade him, but it would be, because they cant get fair value for him. He is a great asset for the clips because he is explosive and he can drive to the basket effectively and in that way can make things happen. Plus, he serves as an extra threat.

If he severly improved in his defence.. now there the clips would have an explosive starter.. but right now they have a defencive liabilty.

Hes fun to watch so they should keep him

Lightbulb Max is a Pro

and look for him to accept his role as the 6th man. I dont think he likes being on the inactive list for 30 games a year either so off the bench, he will play
70 games next year.

That would not be so bad.. considering that he was a big energy shot, and a scoring phenom... I remeber a game where he scored 25 points in 25 minutes... now that's the kind of input you need from your bench..

If you can get good value for him(like the Artest thing) sure why not? He has a great NBA body and works out harder than most. Now if we could somehow implant a logical thinking mans brain in him we would be ok. His basketball IQ must be at 6th-7th grade level. But to his credit he has gotton better every year. Its not like hes a liability or anything but if its better for the team why not? Here is Corey going to the basket 1 on 4

maggette has been a clipper for a long time and he should have the chance to stay and start IF he is healthy but with some of his foot problems I doubt he will start as a clipper a lot.

explain why is it perfect? you mean perfect for the Lakers???!!!
wafer and mckie are back-up back-up players! Maggette is starter material and if not for his injury would dominate Clippers this year!

How about this?

Sonics receive:
Corey Maggette, F/G
Daniel Ewing or Guillimero Diaz, G's

Clippers receive:
Rashard Lewis, SF
Yotam Halperan, F/C

I keep hearing about Seattle wanting to get rid of Lewis, and Lewis would be a great 1st option on the perimeter, and I think he could finally become the star that we all know he could be.

Thumbs up Trading with Sonics for Rashard

Did a quick check on ESPN's trading machine and this trade would
simply be Max and Ewing for Rashard. The cap works and no
need to throw in additional players. Plus the players mentioned
arent even signed by the Sonics so the fillers cant be added.

As for the trade idea, it is the best one so far beyond the AI rumors.
Using the trade machine, I found no other good trading partners
for the Clips in a Max trade. I suggest posters do their homework like
the man who posted the Rashard idea. The trade works under the
cap and meets the needs of both trading partners especially the
Clips who would need a SF in exchange for Maggette. Rashard
with his outside shot would add to the Clip offense and step in
as the starting SF. Plus his contract is favorable for the Clips while
Max has a contract favorable to the Sonics and his game would
help them.

With such a trade, the Clip lineup would be:

Starters
PG Sammy
SG Cat
SF Rashard
PF EB
C Kaveman

Key Reverses
PG/SG Livingstick
SG/SF Q Ross
SF/PF Timmy Thomas
SF/PF Jumping James Singleton
C Aaron Williams

Prediction: First in the Pacific and in the Conference Finals.

pretty much the same... Lewis shoots better but Maggette defenietly gets to the rim better...
