In instances good offense does beat good defense, and I think you have it right when you said in one on one play. Good defense over the course of the entire game though I don't believe can beat good defense. Good defense will almost always win you a game. Now Kobe hitting a shot in Bowens face, you put your head down and go, "Hey, welcome to the NBA, nothing you can do about that". That shot isn't going to go in all night though so I think a fan/coach/player can live with those fews amazing shots beating their teams defense.

ah, P.S.- good season denver, 50 wins is tough especially this season, don't take that away from yourselves, you caught a really good team playing really good basketball first round, sucky matchup, bottom line. You've got some things to work on but you're an exciting team with some serious talent. see you next year boys.

well, it all depends how good or bad the offense of the team that plays good D is, and vice versa how good/bad the defense of the team playing good offense. Can't just see one side of the floor.

3Peat Lakers for example were more offense than defense, but they beat all the great defensive teams because the played above average defense themselves.
The Spurs never played a team in the finals that was great offensively, and they beat the Pistons not because of their superior defense but because they executed better and Horry had a 20 point 4th quarter in game 5.

Teams like Denver and GS have great offense, but it's more then obvious they'll lose against any team that plays above average on both ends, because they don't know how to play D.

You think that's bad? Last Mavs game, Terry, Stack, Howard, Kidd and George combined for 13/49 shooting, that's barely over 25%.

Bold prediction:
East:
Boston 4-3 Atlanta(Hawks will win game 5 but get crushed later)
Detroit 4-2 Philadelphia(Pistons will blow the 76ers out in game 5 and win game 6 in OT)
Orlando 4-1 Toronto
Cleveland 4-2 Washington(Wizards will steal game 5 but lose at home)
Detroit 4-0 Orlando(The Pistons will sweep the Magic as they did last year)
Boston 4-3 Cleveland(Lebron James will not match-up well against the big three)
Detriot 4-2 Boston(Celtics will lose game 1 and all the road games in ECF)

West:
LA Lakers 4-0 Denver
New Orleans 4-1 Dallas(Hornets will win a close game in game 5)
San Antonio 4-1 Phoenix(Tim Duncan will dominate the post and Spurs win a close one)
Utah 4-2 Houston(The Jazz will lose game 5 but win the game 6 with a rout)
LA Lakers 4-0 Utah(The Jazz doesn't match up well against the Lakers for years)
New Orleans 4-2 San Antonio(With Home Court advantage, the Hornets have the chance to beat the Spurs)
LA Lakers 4-0 New Orleans(Clinching the WCF is already great for NO and they will be swept)

Final:
Detroit 4-0 LA Lakers(Repeat what happened in 1989, Gasol injured in game 1 and then Odom in game 2 as Pistons complete a sweep in the final)

Congratulations lakers for this big win, Defo you deserved to win the series. we were no match..

I think lakers can go all the way, but I do believe you lack sthg against spurs..

I hope karl gets fired soon, I hope changes occur come summer..Like artest arrival..

trust me, there will be MAJOR overhauls in the offseason. the series didn't end on a good note (see post game 3 drama) and it's obvious there is a lot of tension in the nuggets camp. heads will definitely roll here, from both the coaching staff and the players

Wow. it takes a REAL man to comment and call me out after the fact. Where the hell where you when Kobe scored 2 points on 1-7 shooting during the first 19 minutes of the 2nd half?

Besides if you call that "BS", then you don't know nothing about playoff basketball.

Yeah not sure what RBA was thinking when making that comment. LeBron travels and shuffles his feet almost on every possesion. He is allowed 1-2 extra steps everytime he drives the paint.
