Default Improving Explosiveness

What free programs are around so that I can improve my explosiveness not necessarily my vertical leap basic how fast i am off the dribble and how fast i can drive to the rim.

People see results from free programs usually due to the fact that they are a bit different from the current training they are doing, or it is at least organized...but IMO, free means one thing, worthless.

IMO, you want to learn, hire a stregnth coach that specializes in court sports, if at least for a session or two and have them write you up a program...it'll be much more worth it as they will be able to see your shortcomings firsthand.

Strength coach at a club or even just at school can help ya out. Best lift for over explosiveness in my opinion? Powercleans. Done right, they will get you jumping outta the gym. Not necissarily hops, but everwhere you go you will go stronger and faster... up included

Yeah, there have been plenty a thread on message boards that deal witht he "best exercise"...and everyone has a different opinion. powercleans and power snatch/press are excellent, the deadlift may be the king, squats and especially jump squats are great, it really may come down to the individuals deficiencies more than anything...heck for some, it just may be some type of core training to fuse that link between the upper and lower halves.

I think I need to work my core more. I have strong legs and upper body but my core is weak. From watching sports science it may be why I have trouble breaking people off the dribble.

If your core is weak, try exercises like leg raises from a pull up bar. If your upper and lower body are both strong, your core should catch up quickly if you use high intensity exercises
