For Dwight20Twenty, were you once a Michigan resident? I have a friend whom I grew up with and he move to Palm Bay in 2001. He is still a Pistons fan though. He usually goes to the game when the Pistons are in town. Funny thing is we still call it the "O" rena Thats what they use to call it back in the Shaq days with the parquet floor…
Yeah, I was saying I grew up in Mt. Morris during the Bad Boys era, and then on to MSU, and then on to Metrowest Orlando during the Shaq / Penny era. Garrity, Bo Outlaw, & Jameer live a couple houses down from us in Palma Vista. My wife & I started buying season tickets when TMac was here.

You know, this reminds me.

I was sitting there at the series opener against Toronto and the playoff atmosphere was really crazy. Everyone in the stadium with matching shirts. Really did remind me of the Shaq & Penny Days.

The score was something like 43 to 23 after the first quarter, I thought the roof was going to blow off the place, and sitting directly to my right is this dude with a red Raptors shirt on. Pretty much the only one I could see in the whole building apart from the Rollie Fingers mustache guy with the full on Raptors costume and scarf on that apparently is at every Raptors game.

Anyway, this guy sat in this environment through the whole game, and cheered at the exact opposite time, and I was thinking it must take a special type of a-hole to do something like that.

I tried to think of how it would be for my wife and I to fly up to Toronto for game 3 or 4, and sit there in the sea of red and stand up and cheer at the exact wrong time. lol

Among the things I would want to do, that is pretty near the bottom.

I've traveled to Chicago and Cleveland for Pistons games. My friend and I went to the United Center in 2006 and it wasn't too bad. The Bulls were still young and the fans were actually pretty cool. A couple guys by us liked our players (Billups, Wallace, et cetera) but they still supported their team.

We went to Cleveland in 2005 and it was pretty boring. Gund Arena was dead until the final minutes when the Cavs came back and won the game. Their fans were far more rude than any I've ever seen…

We still plan to visit Toronto and are considering Indiana now (since the brawl aftermath is pretty much null now).

If the Pistons make it to the ECF against Boston, I'll be wearing my Celtics Billups jersey. I'm looking forward to seeing how much heat I'll get

Why is he an asshole for going to an away arena and cheering for his favourite team?

Are you saying that people shouldn't go to their favourite teams away games and cheer for them?

“There’s no sense in guys coming to my rescue,” Ratliff said Sunday. “I mean, that was Rashard Lewis. He’s a 3 man.”

What Ratliff said was relayed to Lewis and the small forward fired back.

“You can have a lot of energy in five minutes a game,” Lewis said. “What’s he played? 15 games? Tell him to come out and guard me.”

Maxiell explained matter-of-factly how Detroit made the 6-11, 265-pound Howard look ordinary.

“He’s has a very strong upper body,” Maxiell said. “But if you get down low and take his legs out, he’s not that powerful.”

Howard bristled at the suggestion that his lower body is weak.

“That’s not true,” Howard said. “Trust me.”

Quote:
“They’re a finesse team,” Ratliff said. “They’re a 3-point shooting team.”

Like Howard, Orlando point guard Jameer Nelson took exception with Ratliff’s assessment.

“Who? Who?” Nelson asked mockingly when Ratliff’s comments were repeated by reporters. “I’m getting sick and tired of people calling us soft.”
