team with too much talent...
There's a church I play for, and we have alot of talented players. There's about 4 guards, 2 big men (they play like jason collins, frabicio oberto), and three raw forwards who are athletic and can run the floor (ex. andre iguodala).
So here lies the problem, the coach who is the youth pastor doesn't really know how to run the team, he's more worried about playing time rather than plays and etc. With me on the team I'm the 5th guard, and I am a point guard, but everyone wants the ball on that team, but the two bigs who just play defense.
Should I coach them? obviously I can't explain it to them on the court because you have 4 guys who want to bring the ball up court, they all want to take over and be the hero!
What I have planned is I want role players, and I want to have changing defense to throw and confuse the offense. Also playing time doesn't matter, you are trying to win so I want the best players out on the court, and the offense is to simply run. I'm against 3pointers, and shooting should be a last resort.
