What about Eric Smith to replace him? Not saying I like him, I think he kinda gets confused about some of the things he talks about but he's another option.

Chuck Swirsky is the reason I started watching the Raptors. Chuck Swirsky got me into ish (from one of his blogs long time ago). So I am very very thankful of ish, and he has been a raptors icon for some time now.

His commentary was exciting, and though he knows the game well, he always tried to defer to Leo or his other partner, because he knew his role. Which was to entertain the fans at home and add as much pizzaz as he could. He became a little more of a bias announcer in the past couple of years, but still one of the best in the business.

Thank You Chuck.

Now for the next person to take his place. I think it has to be someone outside the organization. Paul Jones is just not commentating type, his voice is kind of annoying, but he is a good person if that means anything. Eric Smith is very very good, but he is more of a supporting cast personality; He is more of a Leo than a Chuck if I can use that analogy. I'd really rather have Eric Smith than Leo, but Leo is very knowledgeable himself, so I think his position is safe.

It's a wait and see approach I guess...

Personally i thought that salami and cheese phrase got to big for what it was actually worth. I for one will be happy to see that go. It was silly, and other teams were even starting to resent it.

hahaha, comedy gold!

I actually wouldn't mind just having Jonesy and Smith transfer over to the TV gig since they actually seem to know what they're talking about and are actually entertaining. That said, it ain't going to happen

About who should replace Chuck, Tim Micallef (The Score "Score Tonight") is a good choice if he ever wants to leave The Score. I watched CIS men's basketball and Tim did pretty good job as a play-by-play announcer.

Didn't Rod Black finally shave his mustache?

Yes, the above comment is all I have to say about Chuck's resignation.

In my post earlier in this thread I was going to say him as well, but I couldn't remember what his name was lol.

He is definitely an option though I agree.

Now there's an idea. Out of all the names metioned he'd be by far the best.

I'll start watching Raptor games on mute if Paul Jones or Rod Black get the gig.

I have mixed feelings about Tim Micallef.

On one side, I think he'd be perfect because he brings the same kind of joy for the game with a little bit of humour, and he is very easy to listen to.

But on the other side, I LOVE watching The Score Tonight with him and Sid, and when Tim isn't there and someone else is filling in for him, it just isn't the same. I'd hate to see him leave there permenantly.

Here's another guy, who I personally would not like to see, but its a possibility:

Adnan Virk. He is the Score's main basketball analyst and even helps host the pregame show when games are being shown on the Score, just some more food for thought.

I like Adnan Virk, but he's voice just doesn't seem fit to be a play by play guy. He seems alright just working as a side line reporter and a basketball analyst.

Adnan was helping host "Drive This" today, and I emailed in to ask if he had any interest in taking the position, but they never read my email. Shucks.

I will cheer for another team if Adnan Virk becomes the play-by-play man.

There is nobody more annoying in the entire sports broadcasting world. His constant referals to TV show or movies with players names in the title makes me want to throw a brick at the TV every single time. If I ever met him I'd probably just punch him in the face.
