Default Shooting at home....

Hey all, haven't made a new topic in awhile.....

Anywhoo, pretty much everyday I go to my driveway and shoot around and dribble.

I wouldnt mind knowing a few mini drill stuff i can do.

I can do a good layup, and i like my shots and passes.

But I'd like to improve abit on long range shots, i wanna get money from 3 for next school season.

Is there any drills outside shooting i can do or any workouts? Not too major though

Thanks in advance
Maniak

The art of three point shooting is all in your wrist, shooting left handed, and free throws will help you accomplish this. Obviously I have no idea what I am talking about, because I a not a three point shooter.

the key to becoming a good shooter is repetion. Shoot game speed shots. To be a conistent shooter you should try to get 200 to 300 shots up a day.

I swear to God, the only key to shooting is repetition and follow through. I myself am a long range shooter and when you develop that certain follow throught that a guy like JJ Redick has your shot is money, just keep practicing and follow through.

also,

I have a NBA style basketball, small one, a NBA sized orange one, and a harlem globetrotters ball(real size, not puny crap)

I mainly use the smallest one cause its easy to launch off to help my shot. Just got the NBA one pumped up, what one is better seeing as im just getting back into practicing alot outside?

Well dang, if you want to work on your shot, use a regulation ball. Shooting with a kiddie one wont help you out. But yeah, I have the same thing as you, but I can't get a real long shot off, unless I go in the street. So I usually just focus on getting my mid range game good, and I notice an improvement in my 3 point shooting when elsewhere.

wow please use the regular sized ball if you want to improve your shot. Using a small ball will do nothing except mess your shot up.

repetition. Also, when you are trying to work on your long shot, dont just start by firing off long range bombs. Start close in (at least the free throw line) and once you make a few shots, take a step backward. Then hit a few more, then take another step backward. Keep doing this until you get to the right range for your 3 and then practice with the same distance at 3 for a while. This helps prevent you from screwing up your shot by trying to shoot too far for yourself.
