Yea, we have some talent if people actually play. Also: Levon Kendal(PITT), Doorenkamp(grad from BC i think), Rautins(Syracuse), Wright and Pierre(Gonzaga), Sacre(soon to be Gonzaga), and the of course Cadougan and Ashaolu(top 5 recruits)
Almost each team has an NBA player that don't have to be superstars but that can prove that they can carry the team. When USA played Brazil, they faced Varejao and Barbosa who aren't even the 3rd option on their respective teams but they proved that they can play but who on this team can prove that they can carry a scoring load?
If the USA win the world championship, Canada would have a much better chance of qualifying at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The automatic entries are host China and the 2006 World Champions. There will be five zone qualifying tournaments next summer, including an American zone which includes Canada. The winner and runner-up of the America's zone, qualify for Beijing. If the USA loses, it has to play in the America's zone, so Canada's chances would be slim. Then Canada would have to face either Argentina, Brazil or Puerto Rico for the runner-up spot. The qualifier will be held in Venezuela, and it would be tough playing in their backyard. After the zone tournaments are completed, nine teams would be in. Leaving 3 spots open for grabs. A couple months before the Olympics, a last chance tournament will be played. The top three teams from that move on to the Olympics. It will be tough cause some European and Asian teams will be in that tournament.
that 2003 Qualifyin ROster swept their way to the Gold Meal.
Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, and Richard Jefferson were on the team. (and Kenyon Martin) DESPITE the presnce of the Larry Brown and Greg Pops coaching tandem. this shows you the Athens OLYMPICS WERE A B LIST roster. Stephon Marbury? LOL
