A great team should win the championship. Not a team that squeaks by mediocre teams.

did they not win the series? a win is a win, a loss is a loss. celtics advanced both times, that's all that matters. i'm not a celtics fan, but i'm pretty sure most of them couldn't care less how many games it takes as long as they advance.

What does it really mean when your beating teams that aren't any good? That's the point. This is one reason why the league barely as a fan base.

I sound like a broken record....but I can finally breathe again.

So much for this team "playing like bullies" as Magic said during the last series. This is the third time now in the playoffs that they've had a big lead in the second half and allowed the other team back in it. Yes, they play some of their best basketball when increasing the lead from single-digits to double-digits, but they also play some of their worst basketball once they get that double-digit lead.

The officiating has been horribly inconsistent throughout the series for both teams, and tonight was no exception. The flagrant foul on PJ Brown and then no flagrant on Pierce was just mind-boggling. Considering both teams get away with playing very physical defense the last thing you want is inconsistency from the refs. That 6th Tech on Sheed might be huge depending on how things play out in game 6 (didn't someone tell me he wouldn't get another one in this series?).

A couple of notable first's tonight; first win in the playoffs where Ray Allen scores 20+ points, and first win in the playoffs where the opposing team shots 50%+ from 3. That last one has been the biggest killer for the C's imo.

Perk played the best game of his career. Garbage buckets, turnaround J's, tons of boards, and a couple of blocks to top it off. He's been getting better as the playoffs go on, which is huge considering we haven't seen those occasional big games from guys like Powe and Big Baby.

And last but not certainly not least; Ray.....

if they beat detroit will you stfu with this crap? first of all, cleveland was in the finals last year. the finals. and here you are saying they aren't any good. and the way the hawks played in the first round, they would've given any team a run for their money.

KG is a beast. 33 points on 11 of 17 shooting. He has been Boston's only consistent starter during the playoffs. Good to see Allen have a great game too. If Allen can get back to being a consistent 16-18 ppg scorer and 40% 3 point shooter then Boston will be tough to beat in the Finals if they make it.

No. Granted, most of these teams in the playoffs haven't been good on the road. But pretty much any of these other teams would have not went 0-3 in Atlanta. Boston lost those 3 games due to toughness issues. If they would have played tougher that series would have been over in 5 at the most.

Bibby played terrible... Joe Johnson wasn't that good besides like one game. Marvin Williams did little of note. If Atlanta was truly playing well, they wouldnt have got blown out in every single one of those games in Boston.

Boston has had toughness issues in hostile environments.

Yes, Cleveland got to the finals last year, but that was for obvious reasons. The east was bad. Cleveland got the finals last year with ONE legit option. That's reflects on badly on the rest of the conference.

I believed without a doubt at the start of the playoffs that Boston was by far the best team. Seeing these playoffs play out, I feel differently. They're a real good team, but that's it.

And thats fine with me. If a good teams win the title then there are obviously no great teams. I'll settle for being good and winning it all

You can't be serious. A 66 win team winning the championship is expected because they were a great team all year long.

They haven't been anywhere near as good in the playoffs as they were in the regular season. Not so far atleast.

Celtics better give it their all to close out Detroit. Only if the Lakers have a huge melt down tomorrow will the series possibly go 7 games. Celtics are going to need to rest regardless.

That game was not bad at all. Sheed seems to be the wild card for the Pistons...but their backcourt is banged up. Ray Allen was vintage, which is big for Boston.
