Dude you gotta realize that Doug Collins was never in the picture for the Bulls job until after the no. 1 pick came and then expressed interest. The Suns wanted him very badly, Kerr talked to him over and over again but Collins didn't want to enter a job like in Phoenix because that franchise is in a stressful crossroads where they are either going to win a championship or fade away. The Bulls are at a crossroads but not a ****ty one like the Suns. There is no pressure to win a title in the first year in Chi like in Pho. The Bulls roster is absolutely loaded with young talent and I'm sure Collins would love to teach the game to these guys because he is most commonly described as a teacher of the game. He knows the Bulls can win in the East a lot easier than Phoenix in the west as well. On top of all that, Avery Johnson had little to no interest in the Bulls coaching vacancy until they landed the number 1 pick, similar to Collins.
I don't question Doug Collins at all. This guy wants to coach here and nowhere else, and he turned down the chance to coach, Nash, Amare, and Shaq because he wants to coach the Bulls back to the playoffs and beyond. If Dougy C is hired it's because his heart is in it and Pax and Reinsdorf believe he can get us over the top.
