Default Can Anybody Please Explain...?

Hi. I was just wondering if anybody on these boards could please explain to me how much value picks have in trades. By value, I mean like salary value.
How does the whole salary matching thing work when it comes to including draft picks in the trade?

the pick has 0 salary value until the player is actually signed. this is because if you trade for a pick, you might not keep the pick you traded for and trade it to another team. it doesn't factor into the trade salary-wise

But ok, I mean like in draft day deals. For instance: How does Brendan Wright unsigned equal the huge contract of Jason Richardson right off the bat?

the salaries didn't have 2 match in that particular trade because charlotte had the cap space 2 take on jason richardson's contract. it was almost likely they signed him as a free agent.a similar situation could happen with a trade with the sixers and knicks with a randolph/willie green or reggie evans trade
