i know i'm the minority on that...just my opinion...

That's the only reason they'd pass up a talent like Beasley. I'd be surprised if they don't trade the pick for proven players who provide immediate impact.

Why would Mayo, a shooting guard like DWade, provide more immediate impact? If Udonis is replaced with another scoring option is not DWade, Marion and Beasley more of an impressive lineup?
All they have to do is convince him to play defense.

Quite right. The Bulls should take OJ #1. That would solve Miami's problems.

it's not a good fit, but it's also hard to take and trade the player who I believe is almost a lock for RoY. Especially when they already did that with foye/roy, and get constant abuse for it.

I think the most realistic scenario is miami taking beasley and trading him for veteran help, then minnesota taking mayo at 3 and trading mccants.

since al jefferson is one of the fastest big men in the league... and plays center, wouldn't it make sense for beasley to play the 4? scouts say that even though beasley says he can play the 3...it'd really only be effective with certain matchups.

Trade the pick to the Kings are pick up your vet help right there.

Use the 2nd pick to drop down to 12th.

Kings send, Artest, Miller and the 12th pick.
Heat send, Marion, 2nd pick. And possibly Cook or a 2nd round pick.

They use the 12th pick to draft DJ Augustin.

DJ
Wade
Artest
Haslem
Miller

Wade and Artest together? Seriously that could be two First Team All Defensive players right there.

Kings rebuild around Martin, Marion, Beasley, and Hawes.

You do the math.

Find me a recent quote from Pat Riley stated he doesn't like or is not fond of Beasley or even find a quote where Riley stated he was leery of Beasley on a personalilty standpoint.

You can't. Stop listenting to Chad Ford.

Wade has been adament about finding a back-court partner in this draft to take pressure of him in terms of creating ability, and it's no secret he prefered Rose in the draft. But he's not the GM.

This is what's going to happen: Miami is going to draft Michael Beasley at number 2(because it's a no brainer in terms of value), and unless the Clippers and Jazz call up Miami on draft night and offer Brand/Boozer and be willing to take back the contracts of Blount and or Banks, B-Easy will be a Heater for the forseeable future.

I can't wait until the private workouts are concluded, this Mayo crap will all die off soon.

Just because there isn't a direct quote doesn't mean it isn't true. Why would Riley say that about him in public?

Come on, man. Smarten up.

The writing is on the wall. I will guarantee you the Miami do not take Michael Beasley (without trading his rights) if he's on the board.

I have Rose ahead of Mayo personally.

But as far as the scouts go...had derrick rose and mayo switched places (rose on usc and bounced 1st round, mayo on runner up memphis), would the scouts be all over mayo instead? The ncaa tournament is where rose got most of publicity.

The Bulls will probably take Rose at #1 and try to deal some of their current guys. Miami will probably take Beasley at #2 unless they are offered an amazing trade deal no one's talked about yet. T-Wolves will probably land Brook Lopez unless someone else steps up and steals the spotlight.

Guys, Riley never lets out his true intentions. He always plays mind games.

One thing going in Mayos favor is that at least he can play defense.
