All they have to do is convince him to play defense.

convince him to play defense?
More like teach him how to play defense.

To small for the West.

They use the 12th pick to draft DJ Augustin.

Wade
Artest
Haslem
Miller

Wade and Artest together? Seriously that could be two First Team All Defensive players right there.

Kings rebuild around Martin, Marion, Beasley, and Hawes.

OK, No thank you.

I agree with everything but Lopez. I think they get Mayo.

But as far as the scouts go...had derrick rose and mayo switched places (rose on usc and bounced 1st round, mayo on runner up memphis), would the scouts be all over mayo instead? The ncaa tournament is where rose got most of publicity.

Do you not think Derrick Rose having better point guard skills has more to do with it? OJ Mayo can play in the league but if you already have a DWade, for example, another shooting guard is hardly the top choice.
Rose is seen as the "best point guard".

The thing I would expect is Riley is going to do plenty of wheeling and dealing this year. Outside of DWade I expect anyone on the team available for the right deal.

And if for some reason LeBron was available I am sure Pat would think about him too.

Pat will do what he has to do to get this team to the playoffs.
All we can do is sit back and wait.

I'm not talking about them as far as position. I'm saying as an overall player. Had Memphis and USC both been bounced in the first round, there would be a lot more discussion on who is better between Mayo/Rose. Rose's stock rose up over Mayo easily only because of his team's success.

It's a pretty easy assumption to make that anyone on the table is available. Besides DWade, a 15 win team that is full of callups from the DLeague should have no "sacred cows" as Joe Dumars would put it.

In my view they are somewhat even as overall players. If the HEAT had a good pg I suspect OJ Mayo might be considered better. The fact is though pg skills are what Miami needs with DWade at sg.

Of course perhaps OJ Mayo's pg skills are underrated. If he and DWade can fit together then he must be considered.

I agree with that about the team. My point was Riley's past history of dealing points in the same direction, towards a major overhaul.

And this suggests the draft pick is also "on the market".
