Default Shawn James, Duquesne...keep an eye out!

6'10" 225lbs

Anybody heard of him working out for any teams? Currently ranks 7th all time in ncaa division 1 history in career blocked shots. ranked 2nd for most blocked shots in 1 season. 5.34 career bpg average

As a junior averaged 12.6 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 4.0 bpg in 24 mpg. last year was actually an off year in the bpg department as he averaged 5.4 bpg in 04-05 and 6.5 bpg in 05-06

The downside: he's already 24 years old

I love him for the Celtics if they don't get size in the 1st round. This guy will be able to make an NBA team. I don't think he will ever put up huge numbers or get big minutes, but that shouldn't always define a player. Look at guys like Turiaf, Kurt Thomas, and Rattlif who don't get much time, but are still solid off the bench. I think the most important thing with end of bench guys is that they won't hurt the team when they are on the court. They may not score a lot, or get big rebound numbers, but while they are in the game, they play solid basketball. If they get a chance at an easy basket they take the shot, they try to get position and grab a rebound, they try to block a shot, take a charge, or get physical and use their fouls to wear down a star player. To me James could be one of these players. The opposite is a guy who has a lot of potential/talent and if given time could explode for a lot of points or rebounds, but if they don't do that they are giving up easy baskets and clanking forced shots. To me championship contenders always have a guy or two like this. That is what you should look for in the 2nd round, and that is what James could be.
