Default World Championships: Round of last 16

http://www.insidehoops.com/world-bas...pionship.shtml

Argentina vs. New Zealand
Turkey vs. Slovenia
Spain vs. Serbia and Montenegro
France vs. Angola
Greece vs. China
Italy vs. Lithuania
United States vs. Australia
Germany vs. Nigeria

Pau vs. Darko.

Hopefully Germany and the USA will win their games, then my wish will come true and the FIBA refs will send Dirk to the line 100 times and eject D. Wade

Argentina will win easily.

Turkey vs. Slovenia is a pickem, although Slovenia is slightly overrated, yes they have lots of NBA players, but only rolerplayers. Sometimes its better to have a euro league go-to-guy than a NBA journeyman.

Spain has too much depth for Serbia.

France will be interesting, Angola has a very cohesive unit, if they get hot, watch out.

Greece will murder China. Yao will have more points than the rest of the team, duh.

Three point shootout between Italy and Lithuania, whoever is hotter wins.

USA, USA, USA.

On paper, youd prefer Nigeria over any other team from group A, but a very physical team. Hopefully Dirk found his game against Angola after some lackluster performances.

My turn:

1. Argentina over NZ by 30.

2. Turkey over Slovenia by 10. (We will probably lead at half by 10 just to blow it away )

3. Spain over S&M by 15.

4. Angola over France by 5. (Yes, I said it.)

5. Greece over China by 15.

6. Lithuania over Italy by 5.

7. USA over Australia by 25.

8. Germany over Nigeria by 5.

I still dont understand how the tiebreakers are done. Nigeria is 3rd, S&M is 4th, and Hezzbola...errr Lebanon is out. Australia is 4th but Brazil is out. Slovenia is 3rd, China is 4th, and PR is out. Anyone have an idea how these tiebreakers are done.

Hopefully, Spain completely dominates against Serbia until the closing minutes, when Darkos miracle buzzer beating shot eliminates Spain.

Advantages:

USA doesn't have to compete against Spain, but instead a weaker team in Serbia

Darko fans go crazy

.... and than he will have 30/20/10(blocks ofcourse) against US and he will block Wade for the win in last second!

Wet dreams for Darko fans.

The point difference is not totally true. Serbia had a greater point difference than Nigeria but Nigeria got the 3 seed. Serbia had a point diference of +57 whereas Nigeria had a point diference of -22. China got the 4 seed and PR got booted but China had a point diference of -31 compared to PR's -8.

I think the games between the teams also count e.g. since Nigeria beat SCG they get the 3rd seed even with worse point difference

OK, lets go step by step:

Slovenia won over PR by 8 ----> +8
Slovenia lost to China by 1 ----> -1

- - - - - - -
Slovenia..... +7

China won over Slovenia by 1 ----> +1
China lost to PR by 3 -----> -3

- - - - - - -
China..... -2

PR won over China by 3 ----> +3
PR lost to Slovenia by 8 -----> -8

- - - - - - -
PR....... -5

.....................

Will this do?
