Frederich Weis and Fran Vazquez are the worst two of the worst picks in history. They have never contributed at all in the NBA.

Yeah, but the rights are still protected. If you are going to use that type of comparison then Danny Ferry at #2 wins. He never played in a Clipper uniform.

Weis will probably never suit up for the Knicks and Vazquez seems to have regressed and he will probably never suit up for the Magic. The Clippers got a prime Ron Harper, two first rounders, and a second round pick. The Clipps made out very well, and got value for Ferry. The Knicks and Magic aren't getting and probably never will get any value from those picks.

All that is still not worth a number 2 pick.

You must not know how great Ron Harper was before the injuries. Prime Ron Harper was a 23/6/5 player. He alone was worth the number two pick. When you add two first rounders and a second, the Clipps made out like bandits. That would be like the Trailblazers trading Brandon Roy and two first rounders, and a second to BETCats for a shot the rights to Adam Morrison. The Clipps absolutely raped the Cavs.

No, you must not know. You are talking about 28 games in the first season he came aboard and then the injury happened. I have been a die hard Clippers fan since 1990 and Manning was the first option when harper came aboard and then Loy Vought after him. He was a good player but not worthy of a #2 pick and somebody I was never too high on. Great is somebody that at least makes an All Star team. Manning made the All star team once as a Clipper and I would never call him great. A matter of fact I could not wait to get either Manning or Harper traded. I know you did not experience the the seasons with Harper on the team. I did, and I have the scars to prove it. No matter how you look at it the Clippers have made the worst Lottery picks in the draft.

Yes, it was a horrible pick. In general, picking a big man from a small conference very rarely turns out to be a good move. However, in 1998 Clippers basically had to choose from Olowokandi and Bibby. Nowtizki as #1 pick was out of question; many thought even 9 was too high. Carter, Jamison. Lafrentz and Pierce obviously were big names from big schools, but none of them really seemed like a number one pick back then; there were way too many question marks.

1998 wasn't the greatest of drafts, but it was quite deep, and there are several players picked in late first round - and in the second round - that became pretty good players: Al Harrington, Rashard Lewis, Rafer Alston, Cuttino Mobley, Nazr Mohammed.

I was really disappointed when we did not pick Bibby. We really needed a point guard but we failed to address our need. I'm all for taking the best available player over need but at that time the Clippers could not entice and sign any decent free agents.

You have to include Sam Bowie #2 over Jordan. You pretty much nailed it but I would put Bowie in front of Olowokandi.
