Default Draft and Trades

It looks like Thorn will be doing a mini retool around Devin Harris. They have some pieces that are worth a pretty penny along with 2 first rounders with one of them being a lottery pick, things could turn around quite fast for the Nets.

1. Send Jefferson and Sean Williams to the Clippers for Elton Brand. Brand is 29 years old and still has a few years left of basketball in him. He'll be in his last year, so if he doesn't pan out, the Nets can reap the rewards of $16.5M shed from their cap to go after a big free agent target. When healthy, which I think this year he will be, Brand is in the top 3 of power forwards in the league.

2. Send Vince Carter along with the #21st pick to the Suns for Boris Diaw, Leandhro Barbosa and the 48th pick. Carter is 31 years old and is slowing down. He still has 4 years left on a pretty hefty salary. This would be the time to move him to a team looking for veteran help to get them over the hump which Phoenix is.

3. Draft Picks

#10 = Brandan Rush - 6'6 - SG/SF - Kansas
#48 = Richard Hendrix - 6'9 - PF - Alabama

Line up:

PG Harris - Williams
SG Rush - Ager
SF Diaw - Hassell
PF Brand - Hendrix
C Kristic - Boone

May take a few more free agent signings to add some more depth and with them under the cap, they can get a few good ones.

1. Were not getting EB

2. Boris Diaw and Leandhro Barbosa both have long contracts like Carter... whats the point the trade then...

3. I love Rush, but at 10? If the Nets keep the 21st pick they have a good chance of getting him there.

good news:
Quote:
In an AP story about his own teams draft prospects, Pacer GM Larry Bird says he has tried to acquire the Nets second pick, the one acquired in the Jason Kidd trade. Problem is Rod Thorn wont give it up. I did talk to New Jersey a few times, but they never indicated they were willing to give up picks, Bird said. In his chat today, Andy Katz of ESPN said a few teams are pursuing NJs 21″, hoping its for sale

i personally would not want to trade swat i think he has to bright of a future to trade. I also noticed u forgot a pick the 40th pick and i read larry bird has called the nets acouple of times have called rod thorn for the 21st pick and he has told them he is not going to trade that pick i personally want CDR at the pick becuase if u rememebr the march madness he dominated in those games and 40 not really sure who but i like joey dorsey or proabably a 7'0 from over seas who has an upside. We have 3 picks out of 2 rounds i just vant wait for this draft to get here tommrow just to see whats going to go down for the nets they have to do something my dream draft id deandre jordan even though i hear his stock is dropping then then CDR then dorsey at 40 but ehy anything can happen tommrow

Personally, I would love for Alexander to be the pick at 10. It won't happen but it's a nice thought.
