I'm kind of mad we picked Webster over Chris Paul but I really like Martell Webster. Martell's character fits here in Portland, and he has shown improvement every year and is very young. Scoring 24 in a quarter when his team called on him shows what he can do when given the chance.

The Blazer's are so team oriented though that guys like Webster don't get to really shine unless a key player goes down like Roy of Aldridge. I can't be made because we ended up getting Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Greg Oden. I'll take those 3 over Chris Paul any day.

Signing Jerome James
Signing Jared Jeffries
Drafting Michael Sweetney over a lot other better players.

The rest weren't really dumb moves. They just didn't work out how they thought it would.

God this is way too easy.
Drafting Ray Allen to trade later on for Stephon Marbury who left 2.5 years later
Drafting Will Avery over Ron Artest
Drafting Wally Z over Rip, Marion
Drafting Paul Grant who played about 5 games and avg'd less than a point for his whole career
Signing Joe Smith under the table later on costing us 5 draft picks
Drafting Ndudi Ebi over Josh Howard
Trading 2nd year all star Brandon Roy for Randy Foye
Trading our 1st round pick rights for Marko Jaric in the Cassell deal
Trading our other 1st round pick rights to Boston in the Wally deal, later getting it back in the KG deal

Pllllease fire Karl, please oh god

Why haven't we re-signed J.R. Smith?

My god Kenyon Martin has a massive salary

I hope we hire Avery Johnson before somebody else does

I like this thread idea

Being a Jazz fan, I suppose I don't have much to complain about. That's mostly the domain of fans of the 10 teams that passed up on both Malone and Stockton. ;)

Still, here's a list of few things that I consider significant enough to complain about.

1. Drafting Nique in 1982, who then refused to report, and was subsequently traded for a package that would be of no benefit to the Jazz past 1985. Assuming that most other players in that draft would have wanted to play for the Jazz, here are some players the Jazz could've taken: Sleepy Floyd, Fat Lever, Ricky Pierce. I probably shouldn't complain though, the Jazz got Mark Eaton in the 4th round that same year. Still, it bothers me that the front office would draft a player without asking him if he wanted to play in Utah.

2. Signing Greg Ostertag to a contract that eventually led to 'Tag making $8.6M in its final year. In his last season with the Jazz, John Stockton made the same amount as Ostertag. One of these players is a going to HOF on the first ballot, one is not. Guess who's who.

3. Rony Seikaly. At or just before the trade deadline in 1998, the Jazz trade two worthless players in Greg Foster and Chris Morris, along with the very last pick of the first round later that summer, for Rony Seikaly. Seikaly refuses to report, because apparently no one told him he was white, fearing racism in SLC. Things worked out for the Jazz, as Seikaly proceeded to get hurt, get traded to the Nets, only play another 18 games in the NBA ever, and retire withing a year. Still, it's annoying because he was averaging 15/7 before the injury, and I suppose a healthy Seikaly might have shifted the balance of the 1998 Finals. Also, it pisses me off that once again, the Jazz would trade for a player without bothering to find out if he's interested.

4. Andrei Kirilenko. I still secretly harbour hope that he will turn it all around and recapture the form that made him an all-star. That, or that the Jazz will trade his contract, once it gets close to expiring, for Dwight Howard. Seeing as both of these are unlikely, giving him the MAX was pretty dumb. Especially since even at his best, he wasn't worth more than $11M a year Boozer is making. The reason I put AK fourth and Ostertag second, in case anyone is wondering, is because it is now pretty evident that Ostertag cost the Jazz at least one title. If they had simply paid him 2-3 million a year he deserved, there would've been much more money left over to get help for Stockton and Malone.

HOUSTON ROCKETS

Drafting Rodney McCray over Drexler- We could have won more titles period but maybe we wouldn't be able to draft Hakeem then...who knows?

Signing Scottie Pippen's punk ass- I felt kinda sorry for Barkley who actually made a pay cut for this loser who left after 50 games.

Trading Hakeem- I wish Hakeem was forever a Rocket.

Letting Rudy T coach the Lakers

I'm over the Battier-Rudy Gay trade it wasn't too bad.

chicago
breaking-up the dynasty a little too early for basically nothing
trading elton brand for an unproven rookie
trading artest+brad miller for jalen rose
trading chandler for pj brown+2nd rnd pick
signing ben wallace to a huge contract
trading aldridge for Tyrus. Both were not expected to contribute right away but aldridge fits chicago's need.
if they dont draft Rose.
if they overpay BG
