Question Doug Christie anyone?

Saw this on ISH mainpage...

Quote:
"After months of speculation and rumors of retirement, Doug Christie has officially announced his intentions of returning to play in the NBA. Spending months undergoing intense rehabilitation and conditioning has put Christie in fantastic shape and made him eager to join an NBA team at their 2006 training camp. During a recent interview, Christie commented that, I am blessed to now have gained endurance, agility and quickness at a level that I had not previously experienced.

I dunno 'bout you guys, but I like this guys defense, and He's a good character guy. The only thing is that we would prolly have to move someone to make room and minutes for him... What do ya'll think?

Uhh, Gordan actually kinda sucks off the bench... He just can't seem to find his rhythm unless he's starting.

Oh yeah, and IF Fisher does start... it will be at the two(no need to piss off Deron Williams). And yes, I know that DFish is too small to defend the two... which is why him and Deron will rotate on the defensive end.

DChristie is a bad idea. He brings more bagage then you'd think. The reason he only lasted 7 games with Dallas last year was because of him and his psychotic wife messing with the locker room chemistry.

He really doesn't effect the game that much and the Jazz don't need him to make the playoffs.

I don't know, I'll take a chance on the young fellas and see where Gordan is at.

Christie is done for. I think it's kind of sad that many Jazz fans seem to think that players who didn't show up for their previous teams might suddenly deliver for the Jazz, see also: Van Horn, Keith.

Well said! Made me start thinking bout recent seasons when they would bring in players maybe a year or two past their expiry date!

Anyway, after listening to LHM mention him more than once on radio the past couple of weeks. I'm getting anxious to see Giricek play to see what he can do in a Jazz uniform.

LHM seems to think the coaches and their systems are holding him back a little. It will be interesting to see what happens....

Which is the exact reason he(GG) should be dealt... After he shows GM's around the League that he can still play, of course.

Yeah, I'm sure it had nothing to do with his bad ankle problem...

Doug will try to catch on with a contending team, Miami is one being mentioned. I think the Jazz should look into him, give him a workout and see if he can still play solid basketball.

If it was just a "bad" ankle, then why not put him on the IR and wait till he's better?

Must have been something that caused Cuban to buy out his contract.

Maybe have him on the roster for the Lakers pre season game and see what happens!

He would be okay for the Jazz how much do you pay a situational player, he is a good defender but doesnt bring much offensively..I dont know if he is the top player on my board to get...Kato could work out with a low contract..play Brewer & Miles Giracek will start but probably get hurt or fall off the radar.

Yeah he'd be useful primarily on a top championship-contending team that needs a stopper off the bench
