Nah, there's still players like Sonny Weems and Davon Jefferson that are more athletic than both of em, they're just not mentioned as much since they're second rounders.

Think he reminds me of David Lee.

He might turn out ok...But he isnt a guy I want on my squad. Seemed a little mentally fragile. When things are going bad he disappears, he also wonders in and out of games and seems to get rattled easily.

Of course Alexander could turn out a bust -as anyone else in the draft- but if the hype on him was closely related to the fact that he is white, Pat Calathes would be projected as a first rounder.

since YOU made it about race, there has only been two white Finals MVPs in the last 30 years. this guy has Keith Van Horn written all over him.

In the NCAA tournamentAlexander was:

4-12 against Arizona
7-22 against Duke
8-18 against Xavier

not exactly a can't miss prospect.

he shot .462 from the field this past year
he shot .425 the year before

he only averaged 6.4 rebounds.

so I think you answered your own question

If we went by highlights Raef Lafrentz would be an HOFer

Well, he is pretty flashy but his stats are so-so. So yeah, Eric Gordon is your man.

Funny because he's so athletic, yet nbadraft.net compares him to Tom Gugliotta....... TOM GUGLIOTTA! The only thing common between Alexander and Gugliotta? They're both white.

Its so funny that in predraft comparisons white players are only compared to other white players and black players to black players, or even players with a similar shootinh style or hair cut or tatoos

here are the comparison for joe alexander i could find;
tom gugliotta/shawn marion (so he combines marions skill with the googs skin) -nbadraft.net

Matt Harpring - *********.com

Super Athletic Matt Harpring - draftexpress.com (nice picture at ring height here as well)

There was another with a comparison to kirilenko that i can't find

David Lee Matt Harpring Tom Gugs... dont see it...
This kid has good athletism but his handles are truly suspect. Incredible verticle, heart and work ethic.
As a Knick fan I wish David Lee brought half of what JA brings...

I think its stupid to compare him to anyone because of his color... Compare his game to another player...

Lane Agility

10.99

2nd to only Sonny Weems in draft class who had a 10.66

Bench Press

24 reps

2nd overall

Max Vert

36.5 inches

very good for a player his size

Lane Agility

11.33

good, beat most non guards, and a lot of guards, like Derrick Rose had a 11.66

This kid is no Tom Gugliotta. Googs was a helluva player. this kid is a great athlete. nice dunks.

black players he may compare to:

Stromile Swift
Josh Smith
Dwight Howard

may be a stretch but he has similar characteristics.

the comparison differences are usually because of different body types IMO.
so it's hard to visualize a white guy in a black guy's body if you will.
