Depends on what we give up. I'd like to at least keep West, Gibson and Z.

Cleveland has no real interesting trade pieces to the naked eye (barring Lebron)... now... if you guys have expiring contracts that could be of some use to other teams. Nobody really wants Ben Wallace, he is past his prime... Wally S is just an overpaid role player , but could be moved if his contract is expiring, Daniel Gibson is an overhyped spot up shooter, Ilgauskas is not getting younger, Joe Smith is getting older by the second, who else do you have that is attractive? The only way Cleveland gets Redd is if they pull a LA/Memphis type deal ...or rape... and give 2 or 3 expiring contracts for Redd if the Bucks want a way to clear cap space in the coming years. Delonte West isnt a bad trade piece, but if I were you guys, Id want to hold that piece.

Cleveland needs to go the FA route, because the pieces to get a big time player are not there and in todays game Cleveland isnt a very attractive place to play. Most young guys dont want to be 2nd fiddle... its the older guys wanting a championship that are willing to sacrifice.

Basically, look at the FA list, and pick out an oldie and go after him. Your best bets are Eddie Jones from the Mavs, Michael Finley of the Spurs, Corey Maggette (ETO) from the Clips, or possibly trading for a non free agent like JJ Reddick of Orlando.

The Milwaukee Bucks are planning to get rid of the hefty contract of Michael Redd because they are on a rebuilding mode right now, and Coach Skiles want to build his team around Andrew Bogut and Yi Jianlian.

Redd is a great scorer, but he never lead the Bucks deeper into the playoffs.

Those expirers from the Cavaliers will probably help them to signed a legit franchise player in 2009, and Michael Redd would be playing in his hometown in Cleveland Ohio, and he is going to be the Cavaliers 2nd best player in their roster.

Michael Redd graduated from Ohio State University, and even leading his team into a NCAA Final 4 appearance in 1998 garnering point averages of 21.9, 19.5, and 17.5, respectively

It would be a good sight to see LeBron James finally getting the decent supporting casts that he rightfully deserve.

I really think the Cavs would be forced to take another ugly contract from the bucks (gadzuric, simmons) if they are going to part with Redd for expiring deals. Like switch charlie V and bell with Gadzuric makes more sense for the Bucks.

My concern with Rip is that, with the way he plays, Mike Brown wouldn't know how to use him. Plays that call for the shooting guard to come off of screens aren't exactly Mike Brown's forte. I'm afraid Rip would just end up being used like every other recent Cavaliers shooting guard, and he's just not that type of player.

Interesting theory. Wouldn't the same be said for Redd? They're both pure shooter types. I've always felt Rip was more athletic, but Redd is probably stronger.

But you may have a point. Could be why all the supposed "shooters" we bring into Cleveland always fail. We don't get them open shots except for random spot up jumpers, and they could just plain lose confidence after a while in Brown's system.
