We had a poor, poor game. It's not because of the 5 FT (actually, "only" two of them mattered: one error was strategic, and the last two FTs were unuseful).. it's because the lost ball during a run for the tie with 40 secs on the clock, and the two offensive rebounds we let LTV catch with 8 secs on the clock.
I've already said this, during the game against USA: Italy can play much better when nobody expects us to win.. We have not enough willpower to fight the fear in those situations when we HAVE to win, because we are better than our opponent.
I think that Italy has showed to be better than somewhere between 9th and 16th in the world, but nonetheless, we need to grow up and enhance our minds. Hopefully Belinelli will have finished his rookie year in Bejing, and Bargnani his sophomore's . If they do not "abandon" us (and I wouldn't blame them if they did, btw), they will be maybe more prepared for clutch moments. There're two youngsters said to be almost as good, so I think we could be something in Bejing. Till then.. mouth shut and hard work.
Italy will be cursed forever for stealing the 2006 World Cup with diving and insults.
Where are you from? I hope you're from somewhere that allows you not to understand anything about soccer
Just joking. Italy won the WC same way Greece won EC 04: a wonderful defense (I mean.. the only goal the opponents could score have been a penalty and a self-goal from our defender..) and tons of willpower.
