Painful to see CDR go one spot before this guy....and Bill Walker was still available. Maybe this guy will be good....but I definitely would have been a lot more excited with Walker at #41.

As stated in the other thread too many health concerns why all the teams in the mid first to the late second passed on him. He can't go more then 3/4 of year without getting an injury to that knee...which he's already had two major reconstructive surgeries on. We get a tough big man the slipped down the charts perfect pick IMO to replace a big when JO's contract goes up...The guy is super tough and plays under the basket ...moving people out of the way...good rebounder and huge wingspan.

Might not ever play a game in the NBA. If he was a year or two ahead of where he is right now (apparently) he might get some backup minutes this year, where the raps have nothing like a proper backup C.

To put 2nd rounders like this into perspective, think about how poorly we think of someone like Primoz Brezec.

i dunno why we got this guy when we could have gotten Bill Walker. Bill Walker could have contributed to the team right away and now we're stuck with some international prospect that we have to wait to years to see if he becomes a bust or not. I think you take risks in the second round the perfect risk would have been on Bill Walker. I was disappointed when we didn't get.

What I don't get is why people keep questioning this? Ok second rounders you take risks. Fine. There are Risks and then Bill Walker. How many red flags do you have to see before you don't take a player.

Chronic knee problems - couldn't make it through workouts without tearing it or straining it really badly (out 3-6 weeks & two ACL Tears previously)
Lost some of his explosivness
Had character issues - Problems on and off the court with OJ Mayo in high School
Bad shot selection.

There are not only one but several reasons he wasn't chosen...if he turns out to be a star you went on the best information available...if he busts (like I think he will - not b/c of talent but injuries) and has injuries his whole career like Bender we won't even be talking about this in the close future. They took a solid tough draft pick that has to be developed like everyone else in the second round.

This is pretty standard raptor fans with blinders on....similar to how guys tried to find positives about Hoffa.

This big guy probably won't play in the NBA...there is a reason a guy so big (the NBA LOVES big guys) lasted this long. Bill Walker actually got a lot of his explosiveness back.....the celts got him...the rich got richer.

Man, I am so glad we drafted Baby Shaq. This is a good move. He should be over by the end of this season for sure.
