your not getting both Maggette and Brand at the same time. thats highly improbable. Why not just Brand? great fit, low post scorer that you need. And Clips still get the point that they need.

Chicago receives

F: Elton Brand

LA Clippers recieves

G: Kirk Heinrich
F: Drew Gooden
09 1st round Draft Pick

If Chicago could still get Maggette, it would still be a good move imo...

Some of the responses in both Clips and Bulls forums are unrealistic.
I think from a cap perspective a straight trade of Maggette for Hinrich
works. Plus I think both teams meet their needs with the trade.

Right now, Brevin Knight is the only PG on the Clips roster. The Clips
have drafted Al Thornton and Eric Gordon to fill the starting lineup
at SF and PG. Maggette is the odd man out and Coach Dunleavy
doesnt get along with the man. Plus Maggette will opt out of his contract
to test the FA market and end up resigning with the Clips because
teams like the Suns, Spurs, Mavs, and Rockets who covet the man lack
any cap space to make more than a MLE exception offer. Maggette
has been the rumors of trades for the past two years and this time
the trigger will be pulled. Another player similar to Maggette, Vince
Carter also appears to be on trade block but Maggette is younger
than Vince and has a better attitude.

As for the Bulls, the team has problems on the offensive end and lacks
a scorer. With the drafting of Rose, Hinrich is expendable and overpaid
to be on the bench. Duhon is a capable backup and much cheaper.
Hinrich fits the needs of the Clips and is a major upgrade at PG.

Back to the pie in the sky ideas in this forum and the Clips.

Maggette needs to extended to a new contract before he can become
trade bait. Some in the Clip forum think we are not getting enough
in return and should also get Nocioni in the deal or a draft pick.
Consider that there is the outside possibility, Maggette will take a
one year contract with the Spurs for the chance to win a ring and
a big pay day in 2009.

As for this forum, the idea that the Clips will give away EB is crazy.
EB is the franchise and will be back with a max contract in a Clip uni.
Plus the Clips are not trading Kaveman either. No chance, he is one
of the few players who is still listening to Coach Dunleavy. As for
Tim Thomas, Paxson wont want him back and nor will Timmy want
to go back to the Bulls. Some Clip fans would like to see him traded.

Bottomline: This is a realistic trade. A trade that could work for both teams.
