Question-Why did they draft him when they have Lee, Richardson, Balkman, Chandler??? Doesnt make sense they skipped out on Bayless

Gallinari has the tools to become a legit offensive star...but is really going to suffer defensively when matched up against the quicker SF. He is a good athlete is terms of coordination, agility, and running the court, but his lateral mobility is at best average. If he was on team with good defensive PF, or shot blocking center, they could hide this weakness...but he's in pretty much the worst possible situation for supportive team defense.

He's the perfect guy for a D'Antoni team. Its the first step in building a team molded into the likeness of the Suns. They will be exciting to watch, score a lot of points, but not really great defensively.
The question is will Knick fans warm up to that kind of team? As long as they're winning games and make the playoffs it shouldn't matter, imo. But I'm not in New York. Knicks tradition (pre-layden) is tough, tough players who bring it defensively and offensively. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Lee is a Big. Balkman is nothing special, hasn't done anything in his career so far. Chandler is a good young player but we'll see how he does. Q-rich- ok, probably ain't gonna be here for too long.
