Default Bryant won't discuss Shaq or his rap [LA Times]

LAS VEGAS -- Famously, or infamously, back in the early days of his career, Kobe Bryant was an aspiring rapper, even releasing an album.

There will be no picking up a microphone again for him, however.

Bryant's response to former teammate Shaquille O'Neal's lambasting him in an obscenity-laced rap freestyle at a New York nightclub?

No response.

"I didn't take it any kind of way whatsoever," Bryant said Saturday, before declining to take any more questions on the topic.

i mean, you can't 100% fix a sport with so many factors but you can make it very hard for one team to win.

theres no question in my mind Wade got the extra whistles all superstars do, perhaps even a little extra extra. shaq was a smaller part of that team than he likes to believe.'

back on topic, bryant is going to have some major fire in his eyes playing PHX next year.

Shaq 'Diesel' is one of the greatest big men of all time.
u can't discount his involvement in any of the 4 championships he has, he's about 3 years past his prime but i bet he'll still be more than effective with PHX in these next 2 years, and if the suns AT LEAST make the finals, he will be cemented as top 3 centers of all time, period.
but seriously, who else has broke down baskets, made rap CDs, and dissed your favorite player repeatedly and still WINS the way Shaq has? some people don't like his 'antics' but really, what would the NBA be without shaq?

idk i think shaq did more to hurt the spacing and supreme transition attack PHX had than he did to help on D and on the boards

i'm not discounting his involvement, i'm just saying Shaq seems to think he was the main cause of his championships, going beyond the truth that he was a cog in a machine that works together as a whole.

shaq could not have won without kobe, wade, or another great player on the journey with him.

well whose to say the lakers, heat, or magic could have got to the finals or even won a championship without SHAQ? come on, we cant even use this years lakers as an example because thats just unfair, cuz the SHAQ factor is bigger than his points or rebounds, OF COURSE he takes up space, more space than any other big man in the game or even ever, he is still a force that has more impact on the game than any other player on the floor when he is on the floor, beyond scoring and rebounding

the suns lost in the playoffs this past season because of poor coaching, i cant even go into how many times d'antoni was stupid in situations against the spurs man, in every single game they made stupid crucial mistakes in huge important situations (posting up diaw against duncan all game in a pivital game 5) i lost alot of respect for the suns there, but when d'antoni got fired..er..left, it made me realize even more how much it was his fault, so watch this years suns make it happen

if the suns win a championship O'Neal will be Finals MVP even if he dont get the award

Good call by Kobe. Stay out of childish bickering with frustrated has-beens.
