2010s: Post-Walter Sharpe Owning Everyone in the Face
On June 26, 2008, Joe Dumars of the Detroit Pistons drafted a mostly unknown player by the name of Walter Sharpe. Many people believe that Sharpe was passed over because of his off-court issues, which can be attributed to his recently-diagnosed narcolepsy. Walter Sharpe began taking medication for his narcolepsy, and trained hard to make it with the great Detroit Pistons. He played in the NBADL until 2010, when he was called up after dominating the NBADL competition. He soon overtook Tayshaun Prince as the primary small-forward for the Detroit Pistons, and became the face of the NBA. At the start of the 2011 season, he was already considered by most to be better than Michael Jordan, after he averaged the NBA's first quintuple-double for the entire season. He went on to do this for 4 straight years, winning MVP each year. Walter Sharpe led the Detroit Pistons to 6 straight NBA titles, including the epic 2016 NBA Finals, where he played the full 48 minutes on a torn ACL, scoring 169 points, along with 42 assists. Walter Sharpe went down as the greatest player the world has ever seen, and arguably the most dominant of any player in any sport.
