That is a horrible comparison. KG is a 7'0", 220 pound PF with excellent footwork in the low post, off the charts athleticism, an incredible defender, one of the best passing big men of all-time(averaged 6 assists from the PF position) and one of the most dominant rebounders ever(4 straight rebounding titles and he usually averaged 13-14 rpg).
Beasley is a 6'7", 240 pound SF, who doesn't have great footwork or off the charts athleticism, he isn't a great passer or defender either and he won't lead the league in rebounding or come close to 13 or 14 rpg. Beasley also has a scorers mentality which KG never really had.
Wow 2 pages of 1 to 2 lines at best from people on their assessment of Beasley I have only seen 2 or 3 posters who seemed to take the time to actually lay down some thought on the subject all the other posts have been probably just slightly better than player A or a poor man’s player B. What is the point of comparing an unproven rookie to already established NBA players? Was he a solid player in collage yes but dose that mean he will be a solid player in the pros no. What really needs to be looked at is his character and how that will work chemistry wise in the situation he is in. Pat Riley has already made comments about his maturity which doesn’t bode well for him. I know some people like to think that was all smoke and mirrors to through off Chicago but does anyone really think that swayed the Chicago brass at all?
The facts about Beasley is that he seems to play basketball for the actual love of the game which is good but it seems that part of his love for the game is to be somewhat light hearted about the game and as some people have pointed out he likes to goof off a bit.
With most coach’s this wouldn’t be a huge problem. Dwight Howard seemed to come into the league with that same attitude towards the game he was really good but kind of a big kid and a bit goofy but with the proper coaching he’s been blossoming. Not sure the coaching styles of Van Gundy but I doubt he works his players to death like Pat Riley dose in practice which is probably why Shaq and Van Gundy co-existed but Shaq and Riley eventually had issues after a year.
If Pat Riley has any hand in the coaching and if he rides Beasley the way he has ridden his players in the past Beasley might not find the game as fun and entertaining anymore and he just might not turn into this MVP that everyone thinks he'll be. On the other hand he might start to mature into a great pro with the tutelage of DWade and Co it’s just too early to tell.

No doubt Mayo will be by far the best player from this draft and a perrenial All-Star. My gut feeling is that Beasley will be....if not a complete bust, then a disappointment.
First of all it's one f*cking inch second of all if you wan't to be a smartass the man is closer to 7 feet.
KG was measured 6'11" w/o shoes when he was drafted and has admitted a few times to growing to 6'11 3/4". That is pretty much 7 feet without shoes and would put him around 7'1" in shoes. So either way he's got 5 inches on Beasley.
If you've followed the NBA for any decent amount of time you'd know KG requests to be listed 6'11" because he hates the 7 foot label for a variety of reasons. That's common knowledge.
A realistic prediction can not really be made, untill we give him a season or two to develop. We don't know how his transition from college to NBA will be. I doubt he will be a bust, but we should not be labeling him a 20/14 player yet. Hopefully, he turns out good and can help take the struggling Heat back to the playoffs eventually.

SVG and Shaq butted head very often and its come out that the reason SVG stepped down had nothing to do with Riley, and all to do with Shaq.
A shorter version of Derrick Coleman. ( if he can develop a low posts game in the NBA.)
Reasonable Scenario
An upgraded better version of Glenn Robinson ( With a Superior rebounding Skills in the NBA, the Big Dog was also measured at 6'7" in the 1994 NBA Pre Draft Camp after being listed at 6'9" in HS/College.)

I think Beasley is an upgraded version of Glenn Robinson, and i predict he is going to become one of the best all around player in the NBA.
Best case I see a play style and production similar to Chris Bosh. Both are guys that lack a traditional back to the basket game. Early in Bosh's career his got most of his low post work down by just turning and shooting on smaller defenders or facing up and running past bigger guys.
