This trade doesn't make any sense and I personally prefer trading VC to a Western Conference team if he has to be traded. End of the thread.

I wouldn't take him back in Toronto if I personally got ten grand in the deal. You have no idea the amount of hate....and violence, that would await him if he returned.

Neither did the original trade.

Garbo was bought out. He can't be traded.

Also, if VC were to put the Raptors over the top and into actual title contention, I'd easily take him back on the Raps. Anyone who wouldn't is a fool and more obsessed with hating on VC than having the Raps compete for a championship.

As for the guy who would only trade him to a Western Conference team, that's what a lot of us were saying when he got traded from the Raptors! Ugh, Rob Babcock.

Default Re: Vince Carter back to Toronto Mock Trade

I can't see any way NJ trades Vince to a division rival even if they are rebuilding. They aren't run by morons like Rob Babcock.

Also the only trade possible would be something like:

Vince
Ager

for

Bargnani
Parker
Graham
1st rounder
Cash

(I highly doubt New Jersey or pretty much any team wants Kapono's contract)

How I would feel about it? I don't quite know. Vince is a chump and will likely "Vince Carter" his way out of NJ now that they won't be a contender. BUT he is almost a near perfect fit at SG for the Raptors who could use a creative SG with decent playmaking skills alongside Calderon. His contract is very reasonable especially since that last year is a team option. I guess the Raptors would be contenders for the immediate future so he'd have motivation to play for something.

Starters: Calderon, Carter, Moon, Bosh, O'Neal
Bench: Kapono, Humphries, Ukic?, some minimum salary veteran scrubs

But again, when Vince starts taking games/plays off and essentially forces NJ to trade him, they'll look elsewhere for a deal. Toronto can't offer much and having the best part of your return be small cap relief and Andrea Bargnani is very weak.

I think New Jersey wants to trade him to the West. Isn't Parker and Garbajosa leaving the NBA anyways? Bargs is trash and the pick probably wouldn't be a lottery pick.

i never understood that. if your trading your star player away and your not going to make the playoffs for the next couple years anyways why does it matter if you trade within your conference or division. they meet only 3-4 times a season and new jersey wont make the playoffs anyways so its not like they're going to meet in the postseason.

The thing is Carter coming back to Toronto, would create a lot hate from the fans towards the front office. He is viewed as a traitor, quitter, you name it in Toronto. So bringing him back would make the team better, but the uproar that would be created from the fans, could be chaotic.

And yeah New Jersey would probably want to trade him the west or at least a different division

Yeah but what happens when the team the player was on becomes good again, and the only thing in there way of winning the division is the team that they traded that player too?

Because it's trading a star player to a rival team. Not to mention that you're strengthing teams in your division and conference which gives you less oppurtunity to contend and makes it harder for you to completely rebuild to your fullest potential.

Now that the Nets have seen the real Wince for what he is, we're supposed to jump to get him back over here for the last 5 garbage years of his career so NJ can dump his salary? For that reason and so many more, no thanks. Simply isn't happening.

Actually, we haven't seen the Toronto Vince... we've been quite impressed with the NJ VC.

21-5-5 in 76 games isn't bad at all for his worst year as a Net.

The city of Toronto would and by all means should spit on VC every time he enters the city.
