Default USA vs Australia (Eighth-Finals) on NBA TV now (midnight ET saturday night)

Andrew Bogut with 9 quick points, including a beautiful behind the back dribble leading to double-clutch layup in traffic, and a three-pointer.

USA 23, Australia 19, late first quarter

Now USA up 31-23 early 2nd q. The USA's defense is tighter this quarter so far

CJ Bruton just got robbed on a foul, maybe two. He now has 3 fouls (I think) and the 2nd quarter is only halfway over. USA up 41-24. Team USA's defense has gotten better by the minute in this. Australia's just firing tough outside shots and missing

Wow, and Dwight Howard just drove hard into Andrew Bogut, and the ref called it on Bogut - his third foul, 4:40 left in the second quarter.

USA now up 42-24

Dwyane Wade has 8 points. Bogut still has 9 points, all of which came early in the first quarter

Australia's in big trouble

Australia has only scored 1 point in the second quarter and there's just 3:54 left

And their two best players have 3 fouls

Bogut just sat down

Default .

i gotta say without any bias that bosh was america's best defensive player in the first half. bogut couldn't do anything when bosh was guarding him on the perimeter. he also contested a few shots including a big block on a dunk attempt that somehow was called a floul. howard had a huge block too. bosh has around 5 reb. too. looking usefull on offense (only has three pts though).

melo has 13 pts and JJ has a quite 12. wade made a few beauty passes also.

australia scored only 6 pts. in the second quarter i think.

howard also did i nice spin move i didn't know he had in him (maybe a fluke? lol).

funny moment was when howard backed down australia's pg (under 6 ft. i'd say). he get's fouled and the ball slips out but his hand re-touched the ball and directed it into the basket. should that count if he touches the ball again after the whistle was blown for a foul?
