Default Sacramento to do ''whatever it takes'' to land Arenas

Quote:
Also, I heard from a very reliable source that the Sacramento Kings contacted Arenas and said they are willing to do "whatever it takes" to land his services even if they have to "trade their entire team." Guess the Maloof brothers want to matter again.

Wow. Kevin Martin, Beno Udrich, and a 1st?

Too much for Arenas. Kevin Martin is becoming a great player, real quick. Giving him up would simply be too much.

Well too bad Washington has already re-signed Gilbert.

@ offering to trade their entire team for Gilbert, but when you think about it Sacramento's 3 best players would be of equal value to land Gilbert.

I'm so tired of the Kevin Martin overrating on ISH,he does nothing but take shots Martin plays mediocre defense, doesn't rebound, and can't create for his teammates.

He's a glorified 2nd or 3rd option like Michael Redd is but he's treated as the 1st option because there is nobody else there who can score like he does.

How is it too much for Arenas, Arenas will probably average 30 ppg next year. Martin only averaged 24 on a team that has no offence but him. Both have average D. And Udrih isn't getting any PT if Arenas joins the Kings. Don't know about the 1st round pick next year, but I don't think there is any good players.

How is getting Gilbert an improvement? He shoots like 44% or around there, really cannot be bothered looking at the stats. He is a chucker and a shoot first point guard. He's not really a play maker, even though he averages 6 assists per game. Though even with this trade, who will create shots for teammates?

Whats to say Martin won't average 30? He is not a large focus for many teams, and is not the type of player you double team. He can hit tough jumpers and shoots a high clip. I'd rather have him on my team then Arenas who is a chucker, and if anyone on ISH is overrated its Arenas.

You must have your idea between being a playmaker and creating for teammates as being the same thing.

Because Gilbert is one of the top 3 playmakers in the NBA,but I agree he doesn't create opportunities for his teammates that you'd expect from him at PG.

Gilbert is like A.I. in a way that they will look to score as many points as the defense lets them score and if you get wide open or on a fastbreak they'll get you the ball.

Gilbert does exactly what Kobe does except that Kobe plays in the triangle offense, and has better teammates.

He also shoots 42% over his career. With his last two seasons both being worse then 42%.

If Sacremento want to trade away valuable assets to trade for a so called "franchise" player that averages 42 %, then so be it. Another step in the wrong direction and they will continue to get worse.

Kevin Martin is not becoming a great player.

What Martin is doing now will always earn him respect as being a good player.

Kevin Martin's situation reminds me of that of Reggie Miller, although their stats so far are nearly identical and their style of play is similar but Miller is considered one of the great NBA players because he stepped up in the clutch and the Playoffs.

Martin has been to the Playoffs 1 time so far in his career, and I don't know if hes even played in any other game that matters since Game 3 against San Antonio.

Last season doesn't count because he was injured the entire season.

The main reason why Gilbert's FG% is so low is because he takes many contested 3 point shots.

Gilbert shoots 41% from the field two years ago and averaged 28.4 PPG.Sounds good to me.

I think its on the 1st page unless Gilbert hasn't agreed to the contract offer of $124 Million over 7 years.

How is that good? Look at Lebron and Wade. High percentages, lots of points, assets to team.

Gilbert is a cancer and this was proven when they started playing better without him in the team.
