Because they want Baron Davis to leave.
They are sending him the message that he (Davis) is their second choice, so he will take an offer someplace else.
Or that if he does return, he needs to change his attitude.

Gilbert Arenas, the basketball player, is not worth $20 /year.

Dude is an entertainer, maybe fills the seats somewhat, but dude should not be the max player on a team. Not enough talent, maybe top20-30 in league, not top 10, no way not close. Not after all the top30 type players that have emerged this year and last.

Questions about him include leadership? Selflessness? Does he make the team a LOT better, or is his impact on winning equivalent to adding a number 2 or 3 star to a team? Heart? Longevity? Is he even gonna go all out another couple of years? No one but the true insiders know this, but as a fan you get the felling he would "retire" 2 years into a max deal.

Said it last year, will say it again. I would rather have a Calderon on my team than Gil Arenas any day of the weak. Neither is a #1 star, but one guy contributes to winning.

Baron is the one who wants to leave because they aren't going places. they play for regular season games but don't do anything significant. He wants to go to a winning team and I believe clippers are on his number 1 radar.

I think if GS ends up stealing arenas, this will be bad because Davis has a much better passing game than Arenas and they will only regress especially with Monta trying to be the number 1 guy on that team.
