Default Hornets, Chris Paul agree to extension

The Hornets won't have to wait long to make one of the most important contract extensions in franchise history.

A deal to extend the contract of point guard and NBA most valuable player finalist Chris to an additional four to five years is expected to be finalized by Thursday, Paul agent, Lance Young said today. This was the first day the two parties could begin negotiations.

Young will arrive in New Orleans on Wednesday to work out specific details of the contract with Hornets General Manager Jeff Bower.

Smart for the Hornets to keep this guy. Going to be the best PG in about 2-3 years.

I guess you can debate that by saying Nash and Kidd are better. But I agree he was the best PG last season. D-Will ain't too far though.

Why would CP3 do this? He has so much potential to make so much more money somewhere else? If I were Paul the most I would take would be three years... CP3 is to great to be locked up like that I would be very upset for him if this happens...
