Default Artest NOT opting out...

...according to News 10's Bryan May, a local Sacramento sports reporter. He got an e-mail from Artest. I will wait from word from Ron himself, because he might change his mind yet again.

Link

According to May, the e-mail response to the question about his decision was only three words: "not opting out".

He's not opting out to avoid signing for the MLE, Sacramento could still look to move him. But chances are now less likely that he'll go to LA.

This is whack sauce.

Oh wow, he is changing his mind over and over. Artest seems to have changed his mind more than Kobe because I just lost count of how many times Artest flipped his mind around. What a nutcase

Artest to Denver?

If he really wanted a good shot at the title though he should sign for the MLE in LA.

That can't be true. The Lakers fans said he was going to opt out, and take a huge pay cut to play for the MLE for the Lakers.

And we all know how intelligent the Lakers fans are on this board, so your link must be wrong.

We don't necessarily need him but we do need a better small forward. I love Odom but I would personally love to see him going for Marion.

Or try and snatch posey for the full MLE.

Not much changes needed in lakerland. I think they surpassed all expectations after they beat the Jazz in the second round. Now they must pick up their intensity and work harder if ever we should run into a tough team like the celtics.

Default ron artest- doesnt know his own value?

I dont really get it.. Ron artest is so underpaid.. i mean in an era where people like eric dampier and others are cranking out 10mill/year deals, Ron artest is getting roughly 5 mill/year? I dont get it.. Defense is obviously valued in the league, and beyond that he has offensive game, AND name value.. i mean yes, he's not a superstar or even an allstar maybe, but he DOES have name value.. i dont get it?? does ron have some kind of inferiority complex such that he cannot see his true value? If i were him, or his agent, i feel like i could easily pull 8 mill a year, and thats just to begin discussions at.. what gives?

on an unrelated note, shawn kemp is open to contract offers..
"Kemp is happy to reminisce. He plays basketball now to stay in shape, although he's open to NBA offers. He realizes his time probably has passed, however, and doesn't want to be "one of those old guys who pushed it." -Seattle Times
