The one thing they really should do is try to go after Artest really hard. Trade Odom if they need to. I think Fisher, Kobe, Artest, Gasol and Bynum > Fisher, Kobe, ODOM, Gasol and Bynum.

If the Lakers get Posey, it's going to be close to impossible to beat a healthy Laker team in a 7 game series. He'd fix our 2 biggest weaknesses, perimeter defense and outside shooting. (Vlad does one of those but is the worst defender in the league). As much as I hate Posey, he'd be a PERFECT FIT. I don't want Barry but he's still better than Radman/Walton.

The Lakers need to trade for Ron Artest or they will lose to the Celtics again or even lose to the Hornets next year. This team sucks at outside defense and Artest is the man who can contribute.

For some reason I see the Lakers going after James Jones. It's not going to take much of an offer to pry him away from Portland because he opted out. The guy was the best 3 point shooter in the league before his knee started acting up. James Jones would be the perfect counter to James Posey. He plays defense, does the little things that help get the win, very high basketball iq, and deadly 3 point shooter.

I don't see how Boston have a more talented team, once LA gets a healthy Bynum and Ariza back.

They steamrolled us ONCE all series long, all series long they exploited our weaknesses...the weaknesses that Bynum.Ariza patch up for us.

The Lakers have to move Odom, he CANNOT play at the three once Bynum gets in the lineup, period. It will not work, all a team has to do is Zone the Lakers asses all night and you can say goodbye to the Lakers spacing, unless Odom all of a sudden becomes a sharpshooter from the perimeter.

Lakers are already the most stacked team in the league.

If they go Zone phil can just insert a shooter like VladRad, Sasha(assuming hes here) or Walton was a solid 3 point shooter (before last season ), or move KB to the sf, and bench Odom... Phil has benched Odom before in a turn for a small line up..

I think they can play with Odom and they would not be "in trouble"...

however if they would come across a solid deal for a natural SF and parts.. that would be more fitting as you say...

I think Lakers should try to buy out EITHER Walton or Radman. Radman maybe since he would be cheaper to buy-out(with less money left on contract). Radman doesn't provide anything extra to the team that Vujacic, Ariza, Walton, Farmar already do.
I don't know how the whole buying out thing works. Does the money subtract from your total team-salary or is it a completely separate category? If the money is subtracted from the total team-salary, wouldn't it free up some cash? Unfortunately, Lakers are too far above the cap for it to make a difference. I guess in the short run, it wouldn't be a great move at all but it would be a good move in the long run(Perhaps for next summer). I guess it isn't really a move to pursue just yet. Maybe next summer.
