Default Ricky Rubio

Wow. I'm writing an article on this guy right now for the "basketball articles" forum. I really didn't know what all the hype was on this guy. But since I found out who he was (about 4-5 months ago) I've read everything online, seen every youtube clip, and I've watched 2 games that he's played in and I was impressed.

Does anyone else see flashes of Steve Nash when watching that video? The passing ability/court vision is off the charts.

I wouldnt even call it flashes of Steve NAsh...Because Ricky has his own type of flair and is a better athlete. Its just flashes of greatness, kid is the truth

Rubio looks more like Jason Williams to me in those highlights. I also think that he will take some time to make a big impact. He may put up some okay numbers depending on what team gets him, but he won't be a guy that takes you to the next level.

With that said, I think he has the potential to be a superstar. Unless Seattle gets the #1 pick with the Oklahoma guy on the board, I think Rubio is the guy. He will put people in the seats and could turn out to be a prospect on the level of Rose. I just think some people are thinking he plays like a 30 year old, when everyone needs to remember that he isn't even 18 yet. But by the time he is 21 or 22 he will be a star I think.

I hope this guy succeeds but if i was a G.M. i dont know if i could pull the trigger on him in the top 5 unless develops a consistent perimeter jumper

I don't know how successful he'll be, but he really does remind me of Maravich, with the passing and ball handling anyway. Haven't seen any crazy trick shots.

Post Re: Ricky Rubio

His jump shot makes him look like Jason Kidd. He gets no lift and no arc, and his release seems a little slow. Granted, I only saw a couple actual jump shots in the videos, but I would like to see a couple full games with him before I start dissing the biggest prospect for 2009.

Yeah, you might be right... But I do think that there are a very few players that you can feel they're special even at age 18, and you're sure that they'll be the best of their generations or even more. LeBron was one (even though a lot of people said back in 03' that he wouldn't be that good and probably just a role player, lol -just like they'll do next year when Ricky enter the draft, of course-), and I definitely think that Ricky is another.

Only time will tell, though.

Yeaaa. what are the odds they play each other in Europe? I think Jennings may be better better 1 on 1 and have a better individual workout but basketball is a team game and thats where Ricky is Rawwww!
