Cool What are Knick Fans Smoking??

Okay, I'm a pure raptor fan and have been reading some of the posts from the Knick Fans...but I don't get it..

C'mon, one of the Posts said that Eddie Curry is better than Chris Bosh...

Chris Bosh - All Star
Chris Bosh - Leader
Chris Bosh - Team Player
Chris Bosh - On the USA basketball squad
Chris Bosh - A Skinny Kid
Chris Bosh - Passionate of the game

Now, compare the above to Eddie Curry..

Curry - Not an All Star (has the potential to be one though)
Curry - Gimme da damn ball (Although not his fault, he's got Steve/Stephon
Curry - Complainer
Curry - I hope he's working on his game - did not qualify for da squad
Curry - Ahem... not sooo skinny...
Curry - You tell me about his passion for the game..

In terms of talent, yes, the knicks have more talent, but think again, you need a team to win...not individual talent..... USA Basketball, had role players on that team...not all of them want to score...think about it...

I am a Knick fan and I agree with you - to a point.

At this point in time Bosh is WAY better than Curry. Bosh is already a terrific player who will get even better.

Curry has not yet even demonstrated that he can play at an all-star level -- and may never do so. Curry has yet to even show that he belongs on the court in crunch time.

However, Curry has tremendous body (size, strength and agility), atheleticism and potential. If (a big if) he ever shows fire and desire on a consistent basis -- he could be one of the best big men in the game.

But who knows if that will ever happen.

You also forgot about how some Knick fans think they are going to win the championship this year. Stupidest thing I have ever read on these boards.

Curry will never show the heart or desire to dominate. Even on the Knicks last year, Frye outplayed him many times. Frye was a ROOKIE! Curry is so athletic and strong, but it just doesn't translate to the court. This will be his 6th year!!! He has played for 5 seasons people!!! I can't see it happening. He had his chance I believe. The Bulls traded a very good Brad Miller just so Curry could get his CHANCE!! He did nothing with it. He got his minutes but didn't do enough with hit. He can score..that is not the problem. But his passing is horrible. His basketball IQ is terrible. PG's strip him of the ball with ease. He even falls very easily. I've seen little guys pull him to the ground. I just don't get it! You NY Knicks will start getting fustrated in due time. Lastly...his Defense is even terrible. Many times he finds himself out of position. He gets called for MANY moving picks. Smaller guys will outrebound him all year. He will never be GREAT IMO. He will be an good Center though..but just good...above average. Without the skills that he lacks, he'll never be great. Oh and in HS he was a good free shooter...well above average...not sure what happened there.

I have done some research just for you:

Some people play the lottery because they think they are going to win!

As strange as it may seem, the Knicks have a better chance of winning the NBA title than you do to win the lottery. In fact, you have a better chance of getting struck by lightening or even seeing the Knicks win the NBA finals next season -- than you have of winning the lottery.

There are only 30 NBA teams, so the chance of any team winning is one in 30 if all things were equal. They are not. If you are a very bad team like the Knicks, odds-makers would give you considerably higher odds. However it is theoretically possible for the Knicks to do that. The odds would even get better for the Knicks if key players on other teams get injured. Here are the odds at this time:

Odds to win 2006-07 NBA Finals
August 28, 2006
By VI News

Odds provided by Nine.com

Team to Win 2006-07 NBA Championship San Antonio Spurs +385
Miami Heat +450
Dallas Mavericks +500
Detroit Pistons +500
Phoenix Suns +600
New Jersey Nets +1500
Cleveland Cavaliers +1600
Houston Rockets +2500
Sacramento Kings +2500
Los Angeles Clippers +3000
Chicago Bulls +2000
Denver Nuggets +3000
Indiana Pacers +3500
Los Angeles Lakers +3000
Memphis Grizzlies +3500
Washington Wizards +5000
Milwaukee Bucks +6500
Utah Jazz +7000
Philadelphia 76ers +8000
New Orleans Hornets +7000
Orlando Magic +9000
Golden State Warriors +8500
Boston Celtics +7000
Seattle Supersonics +8500
Minnesota Timberwolves +10000
Toronto Raptors +15000
Charlotte Bobcats +19000
Atlanta Hawks +20000
New York Knicks +20000
Portland Trailblazers +30000

Does this mean that if you bet $1 on the Knicks and they win, you would get back $20,001.00?

Neither do I!

I just posted this in the Raptor forum:

The Knicks and Raptors are two teams coming off bad years. I hope both do much better this season. Their fans deserve better.

IMHO we do not need to hate each other and fight. Doing that will help neither team to win even one more game!
