Re: Ginoblie to Have arthroscopic surgery
i am not sure how this works out; he injured it during the nba season/playoffs and decides to play in the olympics where it is decided after that he needs surgery.
if ginobili misses any significant time is it argentina mens senior men that pay for the costs, etc?

A 31 year old going for ankle surgery can only lead to one thing, his decline... especially with his play style.

6-8 weeks recovery. all of sept and oct so he should be back to his old self in dec/jan. hes still good when hes not 100%, obviously. spurs might not be that good in the beggigin of the season but they usually start steamrollin everyone after january. but the west is tough so they better have some good tricks up their sleeves.

He shouldn't have played in the Olympics and rested his ankle like the Spurs wanted him to.

Gino is like Yao. so valuable to his team but so committed and prideful to play for his national team.
i respect them both greatly but they are constantly getting injured because they simply play too much basketball for their bodies to handle.

GINOBILI
6-8 Weeks is no big deal, but this should still be a concern for the Spurs. Dude is getting up there and can't afford to have a serious injury now.

In Ginobili's case I think he's probably going to retire from the National Team after the next big tournament.

Re: Ginoblie to Have arthroscopic surgery
spurs got an easy schedule to start off with. i think 15 of the first 16 games are against teams that were under .500 last year?
the less gino plays in the early part of the season the better. he'll be firing on all cylinders come playoff time.
expect parker to flourish in his absence.
