Do you think Trajon grew up saying "I want to play in Europe" no he doesnt have the oppurtunity to play in the NBA so he looks to Europe as an alternative. Not speaking for the guy but im pretty sure thats right.

Langdon did play in the NBA, he played for the Cavs from 99-02 and his best season was 6 ppg/ 1 rebound/1 assist per game in 17.2 minutes/game.

Career averages of 5/1/1, safe to say he was a role player at best in the NBA.

If you play for CSKA than you're good enough to play for any nba team. Those people that think that Langdon isn't in the big time at CSKA are kidding themselves.

I understand it's a big time organization over there. I agree with you 100% about that. Langdon was a bust in the NBA. He couldn't find a team over here that wanted him so he searched elsewhere. The point still remains the same. One of the best players on that team couldn't make it in the NBA. He was a great college player. But we have seen this a lot with Duke players. They have great college players but most are busts in the NBA.

But people can grow, mature and be completely different human beings. Sure Langdon was a bust then but he wouldn't be bust today and he would be a major contributing player on any nba team. Look at Anthony Parker he was a completely different player before and after maccabi and the euroleague and israeli leagues were lesser leagues then. If you don't think Langdon would be either a starter or a big rotation player on one of the contending nba teams like Detroit, San Antonio or Utah than you're kidding yourself.

He could always shoot the lights out and definately had NBA range. I'll agree with you that he's probably gotten better. But he wouldn't be a significant player on any of those teams. He's not going to get minutes over Deron Williams, Kyle Korver, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobli, Michael Finley, Rip Hamilton or Chauncey Billups. He'd have an even harder time in Detroit where they now have Stuckey and may have Hunter again who is a defensive specialist. Defense is something Langdon was never good at. He couldn't stay in front of any decent NBA gaurd. He's just plain slow. Not only does not having good footwork limit him defensively, he could also never create his own shot because of this. He was always more of a catch & shoot kind of guy. His game is definately limited. It's not like I get to watch to much Euroleague action, I mainly get to read about it, but I can imagine his game works over there because he probably just stands behind the three point line and drains shots.

If you haven't seen him on CSKA than how would you have any idea of what kind of player is he or how good the euroleague is but at least your honest. The defense argument to me is irrelevant since the nba rules doesn't allow effective defense. For people that know both leagues get that a lot of team usa past losses were because fiba competition allow defenses to do more and nba players couldn't adjust to the better countries defenses.

All I'm saying is since I'm in the US it's not like I get to watch a ton of Euroleague action. I'm not out to watch every single one of those games, just like I'm sure you don't watch all NBA games. Defense is actually harder to play here. Hand checking allows for players who are weak defenders to become a little better. I've brought up before how the Euroleague has rules to make a player who is less athletic have an even chance. This is one of those rules. Being able to hold onto a person kills any kind of speed advantage a player could have. I'm sure that helps Langdon over there since he would never have a speed advantage.

The speed of the nba just isn't there, the nba biggest advantage was that basketball wasn't as big of deal in the world and they had a coach for every single aspect of the game. If people really went over and clocked a 40, they would be surprised who would be the fastest.

I insist that those that say langdon is in europe cause he can't make the NBA are kidding themselves.I am sure that Langdon left for europe cause he didn't have a great start in the NBA,true.I am sure that now he has had and will have NBA offers but he has found himself a great place in a great club and it would have to be a great NBA offer for him to leave. It is so much more fun playing in Europe ,with the different competitions that they take part in and the competitiveness that doesn't exist in the NBA.He would make any team in the NBA stop saying he is a bust and that he is only there because he can't crack the NBA.Or that It shows how weak europe is compared to the NBA when one of their star players can't make the NBA.That is total pish!Papaloukas(Now left for olympiakos)and Smodiz are the two most important players for CSKA,they have never played in the NBA.Is that because they can't make it there? Are they busts too.Look at Anthony Parker from Toronto.I wouldn't say he is a bust,he has had two good seasons for them, yet when he played for maccabi a lot of people would have said the same with him.

Anthony Parker was a two time EURO league player of the year, I'd hope he'd be a solid player in the NBA.

Before he came to europe his experience in the NBA was similar to that of Langdon's.He improved in Europe as has Langdon. One thing that is overlooked is the quality of coaching in Europe.

There is only one reason Langdon is over there right now. It's because he didn't have a team to play for in the NBA. It's pretty simple. I already agreed with you that he probably got better in time as most players do. He's still not a good enough PG to be able to play in the NBA. He's a SG trapped in a PG's body. He reminds me of a less talented Ben Gordon. There's no way to convince me he could be a starter or an important player on a team over here. I don't think anybody questions the quality of the coaches. I would say it's safe to say nearly all coaches at that level have a very high basketball IQ. Even with the greatest coaches in the world players are only going to get good to a certain point.

I think Anthony Parker's improvement wasn't all about coaching. When patriotism and government propaganda are associated to the extent of maccabi a lot of nasty things are possible. There are a lot of things hushed up because either people don't want to know or it's politically incorrect.

Less talented Ben Gordon?hahaha .please. We'll see what Gordon does when he plays for Great Britain.A PG? Langdon is not a PG.He has the same body type as Anthony Parker who doesn't play PG.what about Iversen? he is what 1.88m? rarely played as PG really? Ray Allen? Rudy Fernandez just on his way to the NBA?all these guys are smallish SG,so what?I am sure he has had chances to go to the NBA this year. You should see the amount of scouts in the euroleague final fours. He had a great final four,I am sure teams are interested ,but as I say it has to be an important offer for him to go.
You clearly haven't seen Langdon play often enough for CSKA.
