Cool opinion!

really though, I agree Ukic will be a big factor as to how well the backcourt does even thoguh it's unfair to put a lot of expectation on such a young player.

I can see Adams though being a bit of a surprise contributor...

I am just saying it from the raptors perspective:

Calderon + Ukic + Adams + Solomon
- calderon plays more minutes (desired level)
- adams and ukic have better size than dixon, martin and ford (better defence)
- soloman = playoff experience
- dudes are cheaper

Calderon + Ford + Dixon + Martin
- PG fight - bad morale, Ford wining and damaging team
- Ford is injure proned
- poor defense overall

how can we not be in a better position than before!
you have to understand that there are only 48 minutes of game time... and probably 60 minutes in total between these 4 PG/SG/Combo guards.
So "Is our guard situation a problem?" and "should be trade Bargs for Pargo?" my answer was/is no because we've made a significant step forward already

Calderon and Parker will be fine and for me Ukic is gonna be good for us. Back in 04 he was suppose to to be a top 15 pick untill he dropped to the raptors at 41. Hes a big PG with a good set of skills lots of cross-overs hes quick for his size hes good at penetrating and creating for others he will play a bit of SG for us Ukic is gonna be playing 15-20 minutes a game. I agree that sucess in backcourt will depend on calderon, Parker, and Ukic. but i think that hassan adams is gonna get some minutes

Ukic is suppose to really good, from the management's representation...

Let it Ride!!!!

As much as I'd love to see even one of those guys really surpass expectations and have a nice year, I see no reason why Adams or Solomon fare any better in Toronto than Fred Jones did. PS - I really hope it's a typo but Adams, at 6'4, is listed as a Forward on the team's roster. And for a guard, Solomon's stats in the 62 NBA games he's played are U-G-L-Y.

Ukic is obviously a wild card, so I can at least give him the benefit of the doubt. I also like the idea of him having Calderon, a Euro who came in as an absolute no-name and had to prove himself on the court for 3 years to finally get a crack at a permament starting spot, as his example.

Alot of people didnt give Jose and AP much thought when they came over from Europe. They turned out pretty good for us, so Im betting that the Raps are thinking Ukic will work out simularly.

At least with Ukic and Calderon we finally wont have one of the shortest Gaurd rotations in the league ala Ford, Martin, Dixon. Defensivly we will be better all around this year, that combined with being better on offence with the addition of JO. Then we have real reason to be optomistic this year.

My only concern is the defense with our guards. Is Roko Ukic and Hassan Adams good enough denfensivly to guard the Rajon Rondos, Derrick Roses, A.I, all em quick guards because Jose is not good enough defensily to guard them and Parker is getting slower every year.
