Meh, as big of a football fan as I am, I can't get excited over preseason and training camp.

Plus, Steve Smith injured his shoulder in camp, supposedly out 2 weeks, but that's scary.

was watchin sportscenter this morning and heard that they think the panthers would be the best fit for michael vick i think we should get him though cause i dont really like jake that much after last season but o well wat do u guys think about it???

The Assoiated Press article on the Panthers in today's newspapers really did depress me. The players behind our first string were said to be rookies, rejects and no-names. Yikes!!!! So what does happen to our team's standings if we have our usual number of injuries. This really is scary.

Regarding Michael Vick--if we're looking at him purely as a player, then he'd probably be better than Delhomme. All of the QBs of the major teams would be preferable to Jake. But that's just me. Maybe the season will prove me wrong. But with Vick's legal problems and bad public reputation, would that have a negative effect on our team in the public's eye? I have no idea. And since Jake has already signed a five-year contract, can we get out of that contract? It might be better use of money to get some strong players rather than to buy out Jake's contract.

I agree with you completely. Why the hell Delhomme was re-signed and for FIVE years for a ridiculous amount of money is beyond me. Maybe the mgmt thinks they'll be vindicated by a trip to the Superbowl....... IMO that's doubtful. Vick has something to prove and he's gonna kick ass.

Defense isn't looking too good. Kemoeatu will be missed a lot. But then again, it is just 1 preseason game.

Delhomme fumbled on a sack. Once that happened I turned it off. Picking up where they left off last year. Oh joy.

What an amazing loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish we'd dump Jake but I see some potentially good new players--Lehman, we nicknamed him the torpedo for the way he jets himself into the opposing QB. Can't remember the other two newbies of note at the moment. And Cantwell--the newbie QB who orchestrated our comeback to tie the game at the end, just before the ball was picked right out of his hands and ended up getting a touchdown plus for a last-second Panther-type win. Though it wasn't the Panthers who won.

I hope Kenny moore and Captain make the team. The offense looks a little better, but the run defense doesn't look promising.
